As promise a video. Phone sucks in capturing videos. Sound and image lags, but you get the idea. By the way that clicking sound is the switch after I depress it. Went on a test drive today. Open and closed it a couple time. Did it when a double cab Taco was in the back of me, I wonder what his expression was hahaha :D

Right on Audio!!!! That is SO close to what I was/am planning to do. I am still waiting for parts (the adjusters) that I ordered on eBay and didn't realize that they are coming from CHINA:mad:
I still think you should have painted ALL of the parts the same color as the book that they were on...

    Thanks guys.

Decided not to paint some of the parts because they are hidden. Painted pull/pull bracket in flat black. Use graphite lubricant on the channel and the cables.

Newlife- sorry man no kits are being made until further notice from BenWa.

Forgot to add some pic of the pull/pull bracket in the channel. Pretty stealthy.

So when the window is opened or closed all the way what kills the power to the regulator? or do you just have to let off the switch when it hits to keep it from getting in a bind?

Adio, I was kidding about painting the parts. The book they were on was like a fluorescent lime green/yellow. You are right, no parts need painting (except the pull-pull bracket).

Hey just a quick heads up about the cable adjusters. I bought mine HERE on eBay from a super nice guy. Apparently his company manufacture a lot of these and they were never paid for or picked up. Anyway, these babies are worth the money. They are aluminum, and fit the cable housings with/without end caps (the metal sleeve that fits on the end of the cable housing with a hole for the cable to go through). Best of all, made in the USA. Now I just need to hit up the hardware store for some hex bar turnbuckles and I can tackle this mod this week:)

    Keninsb- haha I got it

Switch is what kills the power, 2 way rocker switch. Lots of choices in switches. I got the Sienna rear vent switch.

Hey, something JUST occurred to me. Shouldn't we be using relays in this electrical system? I guess it depends on the wire being used and where you are tapping into 12+.
I picked up the "final" parts today for the build. I could not find what I was calling a "hex bolt turnbuckle" but I did find hex bolt couplers (which look exactly the same as the hex part of the turnbuckle) and plan to try with two different sizes an will post results and hopefully part numbers & pics of the finished product.

Keninsb- I used one of this, and tapped in the 4WD fuse slot since I don't even have 4WD. Working fine for me so far.

Disclaimer: I am not even close to being an expert in electronics... I'm a biochemist, not an electrical engineer.

The way I understand it, a relay is needed when the component being installed requires more current than the switch can handle. Because we have switches that are rated above 10 Amp, and the motor requires less than 10 Amp, we do not need a relay. Relays are a way to isolate a switch from high current (a small amount of current passes through the switch which activates the relay and then the relay carries the high current to the component). A relay would definitely not hurt anything and would prolong the life of the switch because it would protect the switch from corrosion (which results from current passing through the switch). Over time, corrosion leads to increased resistance, resulting in higher temperatures which could burn up the switch... or cause a fire. That said, I'm not going to worry about it.

Someone please correct me if I said anything wrong.

That is the way I understand it too, but I am using Adio's idea and going with the Sienna Vent Switch and Metra wiring adapters. I am not sure what the switch is rated at.
I built my little "turnbuckles" to place in-line for adjustment today. I may add adjusters at Like Adio's as well. My question is this:
How did you guys keep the pressure on the cables during this process and how much do the cables differ in length (7", right?)?
    Thanks,
    Ken

adio, do you have the part number for the Sienna Switch? I'm gathering the parts and would like to use a Toyota switch.

    Thanks for any assist

keninsb- dang man, that turnbuckle is pretty cool. One thing I should've done with mines was add another pair of cable adjusters on top of the spring/blue part of the regulator, so I could've more tensioning points.

Cable length wise, that'll depends how much length of cable housing you'll be running on each side. The way that I measured the length of cable that I needed was to measure the length of travel when it's being open, and the length of travel when it's closing(I hope that makes sense). But gave it enough leeway so that it can have enough slack so that I could install the pull/pull bracket. This where the adjuster helped out big time. I know right the hard way of doing it hahaha.

MaxT- I couldn't find a part number, but it shouldn't be to hard to find one.
I wouldn't recommend going to a dealership, they'll overprice you. Check out your auto salvage yard if you got one around your neighborhood and eBay has a couple listed up.
