    Hey all,

I'm hoping you can all help. My dealership is giving me the run around and a hard time.

I went in this morning for a routine oil change and I also mentioned the TSB for the blower motor. Mine clicked on low speeds.

I waited 2 hours for the work to get done.

As I was leaving, I hit the brakes and heard a psst sound. At first I thought it might just be the new blower motor, but then 30 minutes later, with the AC off, I knew its not the case.

I went back to the dealership and said it was not doing this before I brought it in, which is WASN'T! They first said, can you leave it here. I said fine, then they came back and said try tomorrow...:confused:

I've uploaded some videos of the sound. Hopefully one of you knows. I'm absolutely livid. They charged me for the blower motor but I had a 5 year Carmax warranty so I only had to pay the deductible.

    Please help.

    Might want to use headphones.

Heard nothing on first video. Just horrible noise from handling phone.

Second vid was clear... don't recognize the sound. Can you get close enough to hear if its the master cylinder?

Maybe it's the vacuum booster.....don't know what else in the brake system would cause that type of noise?

Is it louder on the passenger or drivers side of the engine compartment?
The ABS module is on the passenger side and the vacuum booster is behind the master cylinder on the drivers side. Those are the 2 areas I would be looking at. On the videos it sounds louder on the passenger side to me....which would lead me to believe the ABS module is what is making noise?

Is it similar to the "solenoid" sound the ABS module makes when you first start the truck and exceed 5 mph?

Soo.... the dealership is giving you a hard time. They only said "come back tomorrow". My suggestion is you go back tomorrow.

No 1 minute they told me same day, next minute they change their minds.

I took it in at 7am this morning. No status update for 12 hours...

I just called asking what is going on. They said they aren't sure. They said they called Toyota Technical services and they are going to try and bleed the brakes...otherwise it's considered "normal". I nearly laughed at him when he said that.

This most certainly is not normal. I've had the truck for 3 years, I would have noticed it...

I know its an old thread but I am experiencing the exact same air hissing noise. Did you ever figure it out? If so what should I do?
