Hey guys...had our first cold spell here in the SW. Turned the heater on & man it sure seems sluggish. Is there a duct or vent door that needs to be pulled open or is this just the way the system operates?

    Thanks in advance!

No, the heater should be able run you out of the truck.

With all the vehicles I've ever owned, I didn't find the Tacoma to have the best heater. I didn't find it to be the worst.

Takes quite a while to start pumping heat , doesn't really get super hot if it's cold outside

Takes about 5 minutes for warm & 10 for HOT(driving).....maybe the cabin filter is restricting air flow?

Makes sense to me. Finally warmed up after about 10, 15 minutes.

BTW; thanks for wiping that smirk off you face. ;)

...all good answers. Not so sure about #2 though. Do you have a DC?

    ...Cabin filter?

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
when i leave the house in the winter its like 2 miles before i have warm air, and about 5-6 miles its hot. I drive about half mile to the highway then 6 miles to work.

The heat in my 2008 was hotter than in my 2012, i checked it with a digi turkey probe and on recirc when warm it blew over 170 degrees.

The v6 does warm up a little bit slower in the mornings as well.

Mine heats up like crazy. And fast too. Less than a few miles and I have to turn it way down. Actually, if I had a complaint it's that it is too hot.

i always leave mine down. that way i dont have to mess with it.

now when the GF gets in she cranks it to the sky then changes it 15 times as the truck warms up. and usually a few more after, just for good measure lol

FWIW I bought my cabin filters through Logical Source. That was 3 yrs ago, but I think they were very cheap comparitively speaking; something like $5 a piece. I bought 5 and still have 3 in wrappers on shelf in garage. Google Logical Source.

    Logical Source is no more,
but you can get the filters from AM-auto parts, they are about 10.00 apiece with free shipping
