Hello again, TacomaWorld..

Considering undertaking another Amsteel winch rope Group Buy again, trying to gauge the amount of interest.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Amsteel, it is a synthetic rope constructed of Dyneema fibers - same or greater breaking strength as wire rope (cable), at only 1/7th the weight. Much, much safer than wire rope as well, due to the fact that it doesn't store nearly as much kinetic energy under load.

At this point, I can offer winch lines, extensions and recovery/snatch straps (Snatch Straps would be constructed out of Samson Double Braid).

Looks like a pretty cool product as well, and would work very well to protect winch rope from chafing, and other abrasion issues.

I may be able to offer decent pricing on a variety of Gunnebo-Johnson winch hooks, as well as shackles and other hardware.

Finally - I've been contemplating assembling a Synthetic Winch Rope "Field Repair Kit", which would consist of a splicing fid, hollow fid and a few other tools to simplify repairs.

Pricing structure will be dependent on the amount of interest; more people equals lower pricing.

I might be this time around. 100' 7/16 and the thimble.

 

I may be interested depending on the pricing and when the order gets made. Not sure what size I would need, but whatever is comparable to the 125 ft. of 5/16" that is on my warn 9.5ti.
