ive worked at a few quick lube shops when I was hurting for a job...... They always have some bullshit in a bottle that magically turns Dex 3 into an ATF thats "certified compliant with all special atf fluids".

Well, some of them also "magically" went belly up, and I assume it was from lawsuits and replacing transmission after transmission over the years.

    buyer beware.

Thats a great deal . Hopefully Toyota has endorsed it .

The WS fluid in mind is a Toyota gimmick making their customers beleive this WS fluid is something special indicating its a lifetime fluid ? The only contributing factor to the WS fluid is its so called life time longevity .
Wether synthetic or dyno blend , oil still breaks down with heat .
Aisn Warner still uses the same company for their friction clutching that they used in the early 1990,s . Torque converter lock up clutch discs are the same , Electrical solenoids , force motors, govener pressure transducers and pressure control modules , all the nitrile seals , all the bushings and gaskets are the same within the transmission and still use the same part numbers as they did back in the early 90,s . The A750e uses some of the same planetary gearing that the A340 uses . The only difference is a valve body thats equipped with solenoids rather than hydraulic spool valves . With this said , any highly friction modified transmission fluid should function fine .
Can you void warranty ? ofcourse they want you to use the WS crap

As much as I agree that WS isn't so special that it can't be substituted, I'm not going to be the one to be the guinee pig.

On a side note, my truck had been submerged so I had to flush the trans three times to get all the water out. I had to fill it first, then flush with yet another 10 quarts. I saved the old fluid and heated it to just the boiling point of water to get rid of the "strawberry shake" in a big pot on the stove. Stank pretty bad. I did this twice to get rid of all of it. Then did one last flush and haven't had any problems. I towed a 5000 lbs Nissan Titan on a 1500 lbs trailer up about 10 miles of decent to steep grade (at about 30 mph) and the trans held up fine. I am constantly impressed with the toughness of these trucks.

It very well may be the same stuff. Walmart is a retailer, not a manufacturer. It's also interesting that Redline actually suggests their D4 fluid (which is dexron III) and not their D6 fluid as a replacement for WS. I've always used Redline trans/diff fluids in my BMW's (all manual transmissions though) with no issues but I got a little sketched out by that. I'll stick with WS. For the extra $3 or so a quart it's worth the piece of mind.
