I am hoping someone can help straighten me out with adding OEM fog lights to my 2010 Tacoma.

My Taco is pre-wired for the fog lights. I popped the lights in and hooked them up without issue. Checked the relay box, and confirmed that the needed relay is present for the lights. Took the blank out of the switch slot, in the cab (pulled the one farthest to the left), and there was no wiring/connector behind it.

The other two blanks, directly to the right of the one I removed, have connectors behind them. Should there not be a connector for the fogs back there?

I reviewed this posting, from holeinone604, (http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/121903-oem-fog-light-install-prewired.html) which seems to indicate that he used the connector he found behind the middle blank (though he was wiring up a different switch). My connector looks the same as holeinone's, but it doesn't fit my OEM switch.

Do I maybe have the wrong dashboard switch? Here are some pics of the switch I have.

they are keyed........ the proper switch will lock right into the harness with ease........ur switch looks nothing like mine........Ill get a pic of the back in 1 second

that said, use a flashlight and look around in there harder.

look for yellow tape and feel for soft foam type stuff.

toyota sometimes tidies up the wiring with yellow electrical tape, and or grayish colored foam

1st pic is where I moved the switch (installed)

2nd pic is with the COVER off, but switch still installed

3rd pic is the connector FROM THE TRUCK

4th pic is the back of the SWITCH

pay NO attention to my switch locations, I have taken my dash apart and moved things where I want them.

That switch in my pic is factory however (TRD offroad)

see how they are keyed to lock into eachother?

I think u have an incompatible switch.............plus ur gunna have more wiring needed possibly to activate the "on" indicator YOUR switch has.

Likewise, Holeinone was not successful with the switch he posted.
The stock 4-wire harness does not have a provision for an indicator light on the switch.
The stock harness has two terminals to operate the fog relay, and two terminals to illuminate the single lamp that is tied to the dash lights.

Thanks for the pictures Justus. That is the same connector I have, and I can see your switch is clearly different from mine. I will return the kit I got and check out Rich's link.
