How to Custom Startup and Screen Off

This is how you put the custom start up and screen off images, incase anybody has been having problems. Mine is a non-nav entune.

Find a thumb drive and delete everything off, including hidden files.
On the thumb drive create two folders one for each and rename them to:
Startupimage
Displayoffimage

Then put .jpg file in each folders insert USB, go to settings and transfer from there and you can have custom like mine. Hope I helped!

Does the usb need to stay plugged in for it to work all the time? Where does the image transfer to?

 

Nope it transfers to the HU in 3 slots. Thats another thing only put 3 files in each folder because it can only transfer 3.

 

any idea of the file size (600x800 etc..). looks like your two examples fit nicely.

I dont know, if you have the menu options it should

customize start up picture
customize screen off picture

 

Seems like normal computer wallpaper sizes work good. 1280x720 works good.

 

Can the pictures be switched? Deleted? Once it's on there...

For any of you 2013 owners this is for the 2014 head unit not the older touchscreens

 

Wow that sucks if only 14 and up. Somebody with a 13 let me know if it works.

 

are you sure about that? I looked at my 2013 and it looks like their is a option for display image. Havnt played with it yet.

 

100% sure. I have a whole thread about it lol. Not a function of the 13 headunit

Some other 2013 Toyota models are capable of it but not the 2013 Tacoma even if it says in the manual.

How did you get the Displayoffimage to work? My radio goes straight to black screen when I cut the truck off. Im going to go back out there and make sure the picture I uploaded is selected to be used. It said it was updating the picture(or whatever) so I thought I was done, but I don't see my image I uploaded.

 

Display off is for when ou go to setting and hit the screen off tab, not when it shuts down
