What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Any issues getting the door panels back on? Looks like you laid the raammat and ensolite really close to the edge.

Also. Any issues getting the inner door handle back on? I couldn't get those plastic barbs to sit back in their holes and the only thing holding them on is the little screw. Mine tend to be crooked because of that.

Plenty issues on getting the door panels back on. When we got to putting them back on, we were on hour 8 or so. Completely forgot about cutting away material from around the holes. I just pressed really hard. May take it back apart and trim up the holes and get new panel fasteners.

The door handles were no problem. Took a little more muscle than usual but got them in just fine.

Really glad you recommended this stuff. Makes an incredible difference.

Yeah I have seen those wheels plenty but I don't think I have ever seen that color combo. I approve!

 

First time seeing those wheels. I think they look a lot like the bronze TRD wheels minus the stupid faux beadlock. I really like those a lot.

 

All I see around here is black wheels on trucks. Everyone blacks everything out these days and I'm not about that life so I decided to go this route.

 

Yeah i have black rattle can tundra wheels and im starting to get sick of them. Curious how the bronze would look on a rad red extra cab!

 

It's fun running obstacles with jeeps. They look at your IFS rig and whisper to each other. Then you run an obstacle and they stop whispering and stand there dumb founded.

 

Subaru does red and bronze. Their bronze is a little more gold, but it still looks good.

These look just like the Remaned that I got from autozone recently. Funny because I have 4 autozone remaned and only one looks like that. Figure they must be running out of good parts to reman with and are using parts from aftermarket CV's that got turned in for cores. That would explain the inch shorter also.

Thanks. The km2s are my first mud terrain on any truck so they are a little louder than I'm used to, but they seem nice so far.

I see a lot of people that claim you need to regear with 33s, but I don't notice a drastic loss of power with these. I can still accelerate plenty fast for how I drive. I did order new Hawk HPS brake pads though, since stopping feels a little weak. The pads are about due anyway.

I don't know why the product image is a plastic knife but it is the right tool.

If you only have to do the exhaust side, I would just remove the exhaust cam. If you need to do the intake side, buy the tool because to remove that camshaft you need to unbolt the timing sprocket and chain (pita).

I bought the shims from LCE, and upon measuring them, they all are 0.05mm under sized from the label (2700 measures 2.65mm)... now I need to buy 3 more and play musical shims to get them set up right.

 

New (to me) bed bar.
