I had my a/c worked on a while back.....they removed all 134a and put back in new 134a..............the mechanic said that the 2nd gen toyota's only hold 1.5 lbs of 134a and if overcharged it will blow out a relief valve on the system..............have a qualified mechanic work on your a/c.....have you seen the replacement cost for a new unit ?

delta T.....check ambient air in the vehicle, then subtract discharge air temp. For comfort cooling if the delta T is between 15-20 degrees, it's fine. Automotive varies due to variable compressor speed. But you should be close.
