Hi finally got my tacoma, 2012, white, quad cab, 4X4, put a roll and lock on the bed for kiteboarding hatteras, now want to get some lift, new wheels/tires, bright lights on a light bar for getting out of woods after deer hunting, see what got away. Have enjoyed the forum on lift education but most of you guys are advanced so I can't follow the lift advice. My brain hurts trying to find the perfect kit for my needs. I wonder what would be suggested for my lift kit, wanting 3 inches (I think), want to keep stock geometry, keep a good road ride, not offroading much more than beaches and flat land mud, so mostly to love my look. Not afraid of $1200 or so, been looking at old man emu but do not see forum chatter on the brand. Help, thanks, dr dave

I'm a newbie too, but after six months of trying to decide, reading posts, comparing reviews etc... I've decided on OME.

This forum is great for inexperienced folks. I went from no lift knowledge at all, researched what I wanted and then used one of the "how-to's" to install the OME kit myself.

Ugh Beavis....sometimes I regret not getting 285s! I would've needed new wheels too though, I don't have enough backspacing.

There's a ton of info on OME setup here. Just head over to the suspension sub-forum.

    And welcome.

I installed my OME kit with a buddy. I've never done anything like it in my life and I found it to be pretty simple. The hardest part was the UCAs which you can technically try and skip upgrading but I wouldn't recommend it.

This thread was a great help! http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/su...talls-full-ome-kit-rear-brake-lines-pics.html

Yeah, several folks have done it and gotten away with it but you'll also find folks with 2.5" of lift that can't get a good alignment. It's pretty hit or miss so I just bit the bullet and swapped them out while doing the install. The $400 was worth the piece of mind to me.

It's definitely stiffer but you're going to get that on just about any lift. I don't find it overly harsh and the Dakar rear leafs are great for hauling stuff! A million times better than the stock leafs.
