ok, So I was reading through the forums and I stumbled upon a great idea that piercedtiger posted about bed lights/ underbody lights here... http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/4323-bed-lights-w-pics.html

So I decided to order the kit (I got the cheaper kit without the remote) and waited for delivery day.
Since my taco doesn't have power locks I wanted to rig the new system in to the door/ dome light switch, so that both the bed lights and the under the door lights come on with the interior lights. However, I cannot find the +12V power wire that SHOULD run to the dome light. (the green and yellow stripped wire that the door switch is plugged in to does gives constant +12V power but i want to leave the control switch to the new lights on all the time and have them turn on and off with the dome.) I found a harness going up the driver's side a-frame with 4 wires in it: solid blue, blue with white stripe, black with white stripe, solid gray, and red with black stripe. With the dome light on, I can't tap power from any of them (except the solid blue which turned out to be for the brake light) I can't seem to find any other place to tap in to get positive power.

    Does anyone have any ideas???
I want to try to avoid routing right off the fuse box b/c i don't want to take apart the lower dash assembly. (i wont remember how to put it back together ha ha ha)

I'm not too concerned about making them fade out like the dome does, i just want them to come on and off when either door is opened or closed.

    nevermind everyone.
i figured out that i could wire it to the dome light itself and run the wires down the driver's a-frame so they work now. ill post pics soon
