Slider photos?

I need some sliders on my daily-driver for occasional mild (not extreme) off-roading. I was thinking of the Trail Gear pre-welded ones (gussets already attached at the factory) that can be welded to the frame. No kickouts. Part # 120011-1-KIT.

Has anyone used these on their 1st gen extended cab? If so, can you post a photo of how they look and whether you have a body lift? I'd like to know about any issues and how far they stick out since these are not adjustable by the installer.

I got the Trail Gear non welded ones (I just did the welding myself to save money) But look at BoxRockets post, he has the Trail Gear Silders with lots of pictures.

Why bolt on? I'd get them welded on less holes being drilled in a frame the better.

BTW, once a year, I join a jeep club for a 3-day offroading trip in the Death Valley/Mohave area. Some of those mountain trails are pretty tough. This is the primary reason I need the sliders. I don't plan on doing the Rubicon with this rig, like I did with my previous one.

Augie, do you have a small body lift on yours? There seems to be a gap between the sliders and pinchweld that 'Meatman' does not have.

 

I agree with weld on sliders. My sliders are from Billy at Brute Force Fab.

I can't seem to find any side shot photos but mine are CBI bolt-on sliders. BTW, these don't require any drilling in the frame because the bolts run on top of the frame. I liked this design so much I copied it for my skid plate crossmember.

 

^When I first got the sliders, I was a little worried about them shifting or the bolts loosening. I used nylock washers and everything has held together nicely. As for shifting the slider along the frame, I think it helps that the frame is held by the slider on 3 sides. I tightened the bolts to the point that I saw the plates tuck in just a little. So far, everything has worked out awesome! It's a strong system that doesn't require welding (heating) the metal on your frame AND you can sell your sliders later on, if you want.
