4x4?

how hard would it be to make a 2 wheel drive into a 4x4?

 

It wouldn't be HARD, but it would take a lot of labor time and it would cost you a bunch of money, even if you could buy everything salvage (I wouldn't). It's pretty much always cheaper to just trade into a 4x4, even if you take a depreciation hit on trade.

Just cut a hole in the floor and stick your feet out. Boom, 4x4.

Its really easy, sell yours and buy a 4X4...

 

Keep it and get an arb locker. Problem solved.

It's a lot of work. Definitely easier to sell and buy a 4wd.

 

I don't think a rear locker is quite the same as 4x4.

This. Same process I used to convert my PreRunner to a 4X4.

 

Just put one of These in it. Done!!!

 

I did the exact same thing. Not really labor intensive at all. Had to push a pen around a few times but other than that the entire process took less than 2 hours tops.

 

The only way that I would consider converting 2WD to 4x4 is V6 manual trans Pre-Runner to SAS 4x4. In this case you wouldn't be using the factory 4x4 front end anyway, so there's no reason to buy all that stuff.

If you want the factory 4x4 IFS setup, just swap trucks.

Just get the switch, as long as you plug it in the computer will do the rest.

 

Just get some mudflaps that say 4X4... no one will know the difference.

 

i think ill go with the 4x4 mudflaps and call it a day.
