I know wrong section for this but whatever.

I did search but did not find much.

But has anyone put a Warn Zeon 8 in a Deluxe ARB Bull bar? Will it fit?

They do make a relocation kit for the top part of it.

I spoke to Nathan at CBI today about mounting a zeon on my 2010. He stated the zeon would not mount on a 2010 in their CBI Moab front bumper, but 2012's and up it would work. I'm assuming it would also work with the ARB

    Thanks for the info.

I just went and ordered a M8000. Zeon might have new designs? So I figured the 8000 is proven and reliable.

Yeah I went the same route, I ordered the M8000-S. If you don't mind me asking, where did you buy and how much did you pay?

I got it on Amazon. The thing with Amazon is the price changes all the time for some products. Looking at right now it is $608 BUT when I got it I paid $586. Local 4wheel parts wanted $699 plus tax. No tax on Amazon or shipping if on prime. So I get 2 day air at no charge or if you figure how I buy and the cost of a prime membership then less than .50 cents. So when you find something you want watch it over a few days. Everything you put in your cart it will automatically tell you since the last time you logged in if the price has gone up/down on a product in your cart.

I don't care what anyone says but I love Amazon. I buy so much on there it is borderline retarded. Foodstuff, clothes, tools, music, hunting stuff, auto stuff, and the list goes on and on.

So you got the m8000 with the wire rope?

I went with the synthetic line to save a little weight. I wound up buying it from CBI and it was about $30 more than Amazons price, but it'll ship with my bumper which saves $

I don't think you would have issues with the M8000, if in doubt use a snatchblock for 16k lb of pulling power.

Yeah I really don't like the idea of trusting a thread to pull me out. Plus the cost.

Now if I used the winch all the time like once a week or month the synthetic would be great.

But this will really only be for emergencies so I feel like the metal cable would be better. Just lube the cable up once every year or two and forget about it.

I don't want to start an argument, as everyone has their own opinion- but:

-Synthetic lines are (generally) stronger under load , and also store a lot less kinetic energy when pulling. So, if it breaks, it will not cause the same reaction as a steel wound cable would (whip around at a dangerous speed)

    -No Metal Splinters

-Save about 30 lbs in bumper weight

    -Easier to work with

-Easier to clean (no oiling like steel- just a bucket of water and your hands)

BUT I will agree with you that a steel line, if properly maintained, will last longer than a synthetic.

    Cheers

    Check out the build
Also with steel, even though you're told not to, is you can rub against a rock or object, where the rope will tear.

But to add to this thread, I called ARB and they said the Zeon's would fit, but it would be tight.
