i knew from researching here that the front mudflaps may have to be removed with 265/70/17 and aftermarkets rims.

my rims are 17 x 8.5 with 0mm offset. but what i'm asking is that they rub at a "molded" part of the mud flap, it seems to have that bump for no apparent reason.

are there any aftermarket mudflaps that are shaped differently and will solve this problem?

i would very much like to have front mudflaps, i can't believe how much crud and ROCKS get thrown up onto the bottom of the side mirrors!

i did a search, and i don't know if the HUSKY ones will solve this problem. and they seem a little short.

I don't really have an answer to your question, but pretty much everyone is going to say to just take them off. Just prepare yourself.

I'm currently running 265/70 Duratracs on 17" FJ rims with the Husky flaps on the front and i have zero rubbing issues. I think on the Husky flaps the back screw tucks the flap more than OEM ones

Even when I was stock I had no issues with the rear mud flaps with my 265/70/17s. Weird. Maybe you could get an alignment and try moving the wheels forward a little???

Take a dremmel with a metal wheel and cut out the hump where it rubs

yes i knew some people would say to take them off, but i want them on, as i mentioned i can't believe how much schmootz gets thrown up on the side mirrors.

i thought of removing the bump with a dremmel, but if i don't take enough away, the tread can 'catch' on the cut edge and make it worse.

i wonder if i can take a blow torch, heat it up a bit, and smoosh down the bump. i have nothing to lose.

lots of photos of HUSKY mudflaps here, but they never seem to show the wheel well side.

okay i found this photo of these HUSKY flaps, and it looks to be a bit better. i'd prefer the full-length mudflaps if they are available. i'll keep looking, unless, of course, somebody here can help.[IMG]

if you go through deep mud/clay off-road ever i would just remove them, it is possible that you could bend fender or something, i didnt happen to me but i can see where it would be posible because i didnt remove mine they literally got ripped off one time when i bared it to the frame in clay. lol, peeps make fun of prerunners but they do, do a good job, if YOU HAVE ONE WITH A REAL LIMITED SLIT DIFF PRE-BRAKE ASSIST MODEL if you put mud/snow chains on them you can go though ANY mud pit a 4wd can :)

    cheers,

That's what I did, and now I only rub at extreme steering wheel angles. 265/70/17, 17x8 0 offset.

There is some fender behind that bump. It's there for a reason. But it will buy you an extra half inch of clearance, if memory serves. I've had no major issues since.
