If you're wanting a tent with an annex, I've found that the CVT Mt. Bachelor is the cheapest.

    $995 with annex before shipping

Doesn't really help people though if you can't tell us the special price you got yours for. So the Mt. Bachelor is still cheaper haha

Ahh haha yeah, idk about those. I just want the Bachelor for the price/size comparison.

I agree that if you can get them to lower then that would be a great deal!

My preferred tent would be CVT. Shasta or Rainier or Tepui AUT Ana. I like having the ladder under cover by the annex.

How many people do you want to be able to sleep in it?

And as for rtt mods, I just found this thread... Surprised it wasn't linked in any of the other rtt threads I've seen.

I have an led strip on the inside middle hoop, a 12v outlet/USB outlet for charging phones if I need too or an electric blanket, a couple of led strips near the ladder to light up the ladder and surrounding area. Planning on a 12v fan when it gets hot. I need to get the moisture barrier for under the mattress.

I also have a cvt awning that I'm going to play around with adding an led strip somewhere

As far as pictures go, my tent is stored for the winter so I don't have anything besides these. But heres how I store it. Harken Hoister from Amazon. Its a pulley system that automatically locks so you can't accidentally drop the tent. http://www.amazon.com/Harken-Hoiste...qid=1390487496&sr=8-5&keywords=harken+hoister

    1978B4B4-C0A1-4A57-AF48-F0BBD3589D1E-327_f15762cc52f106747b40ae732050cd004428e87d.jpg

And heres a picture of my girlfriend and our dog in the tent after I added the led strip.
    5A3F60C3-155D-4E7B-92FB-AA481E917A83-327_1cd5ad3f99d17ad21315e147b1974b2b2064b79a.jpg

As for a write up.. I guess when I set the tent up again in the spring I could put together something but I think its pretty easy to figure out.

I have a long wire that I pop through the hole where the tent hinges. I run it into the cab by opening the front passenger door and plug it into an always hot 12v outlet. then I close the door. That wire gives power to a switch I have zip tied to an upright part of the center hoop. It also gives power to the 12v outlet/usb outlet - http://www.amazon.com/Multi-Use-Veh...TF8&qid=1390487675&sr=8-9&keywords=12v+outlet
This outlet is nice and small. I just have it velcro-ed under the mattress between where our heads go. It has enough slack in the wire that I can pull it up on top of the mattress while using it, but store it securely attached under the mattress.

For LED strips near the ladder, you just have to make sure to mount them away from where the ladder closes. I have 2 that lay parallel with the ladder when its closed. I just drilled small holes to run the wires into the tent. I have them wired to a switch that I have loosely zip tied to something near the door so I can just climb up the ladder a little bit to reach the switch and turn them on. I also thought about a flush mount switch that can be accessed from under the tent but thought it best to have an inline switch in the tent instead so I don't accidentally kneel on the flush mount switch and mess it up. couldn't come up with a good option for protecting it where its in the tent other than glueing a pvc cap over it or something. I have these wired to the main power wire I described earlier.

As for an LED strip on the awning.. I've seen people hang christmas lights and stuff from awnings on rv's so I thought it might be cool for "camp lighting" to add an led strip that runs the full width of the awning. I wanted it at the end farthest from the truck but haven't come up with a good way to run the wire. I may figure something out this spring when I actually get around to doing this, but I think It might work well just having the leds on the aluminum part where the awning rolls up to in the bag. Again, I haven't done this mod yet so I'll post some info when I get around to it.

CVT will be doing another group buy in March, I would hold off and see what their offer is. Last years group buy got people 30% off.
