So last week I was finally able to retire the 2006 Ford Explorer I had been driving for the last year. I put 60k miles on it this year:eek: and it was beginning to show its age. My company agreed that I needed to get something else and I was asked what I had in mind. "A Tacoma!" I exclaimed. Three days later a Super White 2013 4x4 Access Cab Tacoma was waiting for me at our company yard.:D It had 15k miles on it from being a dealership rental but was in pretty damn good shape and really clean on the inside. I was stoked!

So now, a little over a week later, I have put about 1,300 miles on it and am absolutely loving it! I am allowed to make modifications to the truck so long as I pay for everything myself (unless I can justify using my company Mastercard) and don't "ruin" the truck or its driveability. I inspect railroad tracks for a living and drive 3k-5k mile monthly. I have to make sure that the truck will still do that no problem after any mods I make to it.

So far I have just made some aesthetic mods to it and done a little DIY stuff to it using threads on here for some "how-to" instructions. I plan to have a Magnaflow muffler installed, do a HID headlight conversion, install a light bar and lights of some kind as was well as possibly an intake and a 3" lift.

I will have a shell on the bed by the end of January 2014 due to the fact I have a lot of tools I have to carry with me, and have been looking at other mods I can do with the shell in place. I'm thinking some kind of bed lighting with an aux. 12V power supply.

Any how, here are some pics of what I've done so far.

    Relocated horns:

Pics of the full truck will come later. Thank for looking! Comments welcome!

Thanks! Happy to have a Tacoma again. I had an X-Runner a few years ago for 6 months; I got rear ended by an illegal alien and that ended my ownership of it.

Company logo and license plate censored since it's not really my truck.

Got my MattGecko sliding window security bar today too. I received confirmation of payment Saturday, he shipped it out Saturday, and I got it today! Fast shipper for sure!

Here it is all tucked in and unassuming...

It fits nice and tight so there won't be any rattling!:D

    UPDATE:

For lights anytime mod has been done. Very easy mod to do. I used this method: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/309407-nd4s-fog-light-anytime-mod-no-splicing-no-bending-100-reversible.html

I got some seat covers too. I didn't order them, though. The mechanic at work did. I don't think I like them too much; I didn't have to pay for them though so... they're Precision Fit brand.

I also installed the Salex glove box and center console organizers today. These ones: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/group-buys/224264-center-console-organizer-gen2-tacoma.html

Here are some before and after pics:

I also final fitted and installed my DIY washable cabin air filter. I used this write-up to do it: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/90324-diy-washable-cabin-air-filter.html

That's it for now I guess. More mods to come soon :D

LOL it's a box of individual 2-packs I bought at a travel center one day at work. 3-8 hours of seat time a day makes for a sore ass and joints sometimes.
