Anyone out there have heated side mirrors?

    Im tired of condensation forming every night on my side mirrors. Any ideas on how to fix this problem? Products i could apply? after market heated mirrors? Thanks in advance

    keeping them clean usually works for me, it's the dust on the mirrors that gathers the most water and obscures vision.

    HOWEVER, I remember seeing a thread on here where someone retro-ed the heated mirror elements from a Sienna van and it worked great, I think he even used the switch from the Sienna.

    I'll see if I can hunt it down for ya.

    my 2001 4runner had heated side mirrors. I dont know how they turned on maybe when the defrost was on ... but they were great.

    A quick look on ebay and checking the mounting plates suggests that it would be a usable swap...

    The last thing I needed was to buy a new set of mirrors.

    Put some never wet on there. The stuff basically repels any sort of liquid, I assume it would work on mirrors.

    I have an extra set sitting in my garage just for this project.

    Haven't gotten to it, but I will put those motorcycle handle bar heater grips on the back side and run the wires into the cab to a switch I'll put on the driver's side armrest trim.

    old thread, but anybody do this yet? i wonder if the 01 4runner mirrors would swap right in.
