Prob a stupid question but the metal hold down being so close to the positive terminal is it a concern or issue?

just picked up my Diehard Platinum 31M from the windward mall Sears! Man this thing is huge, and definitely heavier than your average battery.. I'm pre-charging it as i post this. Just waiting on my pelfreybilt cage now.

The date on this battery is August 2012. So this battery is a year and a half old right off the shelf. This being a marine battery, and that I'm also precharging it before putting it in my truck, should I be concerned about this? Or, because it's a marine battery, it shouldn't be a problem and that's what it's designed for.

also, My Clore CT7 Battery tester says it was putting out 1458CCA and read 12.5v before i connected it to the charger. So it's still cranking very strong.

I am in. I saw this group buy on Facebook and couldn't pass it up. I am going to send my email right now. on a side note I've been looking at hybrid bumpers but I haven't seen any on the newer 2nd Gen. You guys don't happen to have any pictures of your hybrid on newer Tacoma. Thanks.

Tyler, other than this battery, is there a 2nd choice to this? Sears Canada doesn't sell battery's and I'm having a hard time finding this battery. Would the closest battery be the odyssey, since there the same manufacturer? Could go across the border, but would be a pain to take advantage of a warrantee if need be.

maybe it was the one I called, but they could only find the non-platinum one, which is roughly the same size, and the guy said 1140CCA appose to 1150. This was over the phone so maybe I would have to go in. The battery was only $164ish, so definitely a lot cheaper, so it must be the wrong one. The search continues :p

    POST ABOVE:
There is a 31M that is a regular lead-acid battery. The PLATINUM is the AGM style and cost a bunch more..

I am still hoping the big Diehard Platinum 31M battery goes on sale again..... I will be putting in the Pelfreybilt cage and the OEM battery shimmed up with pieces of wood until Sears has that 31M for $250 or less. Will run the perfectly fine OEM battery until it dies because I'm not paying $318 (with Tax) for a battery.

Main thing is to compare the size for fitment. I would think there is an Odyssey option that is very similar but have not checked.
