I installed one about three weeks ago. I listen to the same type of music and I think it performs perfect for my needs. It is not a booming system by any means but it added a lot of much needed fill to the cab. I bought one from a member for 100 with all the wiring, couldn't pass it up.

Mine has been installed for almost a year now and I have no complaints. I wouldn't hesitate buying it again...as long as it was under $150.

I'm about to pull the trigger on one of these to add to my stock 13 DC system. How is it holding up? Are you still liking it? Also I saw you put it behind that seat. Is there any plastic rattle. Did you add any padding?

Not sure if you pulled the trigger or not, but I bought a used one on eBay. The same guy I bought it from has another for sale too...

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sound-Ordna...Car_Subwoofers_Enclosures&hash=item2335af770c

The one I got was in perfect shape and came with the bass knob. I just picked up a $12 wiring kit from Amazon to install it. I just got the install done last night and for $70-80 it is definitely worth it for me. Adds some punchy bass and fills in the sound nicely. I have all stock h/u and speakers. Also I squeezed mine under the front driver seat

    Sure thing
    http://www.amazon.com/KIT-2-Complet...id=1391703962&sr=8-1&keywords=boss+wiring+kit

It says it's 8 gauge and multiple reviews complain saying it's truly 10 gauge but for powering up a 125watt sub it feels like more than enough for me and the wire is easy to work with.

I tapped into the back of the headunit with a PAC-SNI35 LOC that I had laying around like this...it's only $11 though if you hafta buy new.
    http://www.amazon.com/PAC-SNI35-Adj...?ie=UTF8&qid=1391704107&sr=8-1&keywords=sni35

It has 4 inputs L+,L-,R+,R- so I tapped into the wires for the left and right rear speakers. There are 2 brown ground wires and the instructions say only to connect them if you get no sound. Well, I got no sound, so I grounded those 2 brown wires and everything came to life.

Awesome! Thanks for the response. I've been looking at those on ebay too. They never have a pic or much information showing they have the knob. I emailed the seller, but they didn't give much detail.

Yeah I emailed the seller too and he said there weren't any other wires but when it got here the knob was in there. I actual ordered a universal bass knob before seeing it came with one. I'll try it and let you know how it works and which one it is. That way you're covered either way. It was less than ten bucks

So i finally got my S/O 8-PTD installed with my factory head unit.

-It sounded ok, until i started fooling with the settings on the sub.
-Could some of yall recommend what to set the: gain, bass, frequency, and level at.
-after i turned up the gain and bass some it started to sound alot better, but i noticed this loud buzz when i start my truck.

    Imput needed!

For those of you who have an aftermarket HU, did you have to run a rem wire? And if you did, where did you run it to? And where did you ground it?

I'm running into some issues and I'm hoping it's just a bad ground. Thanks for any help!

Yes - you have to run the wire to ignition power somewhere. The Crutchfield instructions are vague on that. I grounded under a lower seat belt bolt. Sanded to bare metal on a little spot to ensure good contact.

Thanks for the help. Figured out the wiring. Gave them a quick call. It taps into a blue wire with a white strip on it on the back of the HU.

Update: finally got my S/O sub installed and it works great! I'm very happy with this little thing. It adds just the right "thump" to the sound without being way over bearing or window shattering! I'm happy with it, and, of course with playing with it for a little bit making adjustments it sounds really good. I also had my door speakers changed and did end up running an amp to push the 2 front door speakers. Polymerhead, you scared an amp outta me! Lol.. You had mentioned that the stock deck wouldn't have enough power to push the aftermarket speakers without an amp so instead of eventually having to take everything apart again I just added an amp to avoid all that! Great advise and I'm glad i did it. :) Im a happy music listener now! Lol :D

Great! Think of all the effort you saved only having to rip everything apart once. :)

So how does this sub hook up to the HU?
Does it just plug into sub pre-outs?
