And anyone who actually comes, try and bring wood. I had a truck load of wood, only, that i took last year and combined that with some wood we found there and a lil bit someone else brought and by Sat night we were burning everything in site, including people and trucks, to keep warm. haha and that was with about 15 of us. Our list of trucks alone is well over that so we gonna go through some wood.

Someone might wonder ..... "Well we are in the woods where there is plenty of wood around us so why do we need to bring wood?" Well ill tell ya why ..... 2 reasons: if it precipitates constantly like it did last year then it sure makes it hard to burn wet wood. And you have to buy a "wood" permit from the park to cut anything down. They have wood there at the check in point but its not the cheapest. So if yall got a lil extra bed space once you get done packin then throw in a few random pieces of wood to bring. Firewood, tree limbs, stumps, whole trees, christmas trees, fake trees, bonzi trees, pot trees, fence posts, dog houses, houses, baby cradles ......... whatever you feel like burning to keep your little cold dick from being so little, BRING IT!!

There are some trees down in the woods on my property that I had planned on just leaving to rot. Guess i should cut them up this weekend. I'll see if I've got any Osage down. That stuff burns HOT. (aka hedge apple)

So I guess my weekend will be spent cutting trees up and going to buy a tent. Unless I really decide to sleep in the truck with a tarp bungee strapped over it.

 

Look at dicks sporting goods. They have lots of decent smaller tents the are pretty inexpensive. I paid 60 for mine.

 

Well shit my names not on the list. But I plan to be there. I have two weeks to get these damn tires figured out and my rear leafs re built. But I'm doing everything I can this week to get it done.

 

That would be pimp shit. Mike's got a 4 door and riding solo so he should have extra room if you got extra stuff. Also my buddy has a 06 4runner that carried all my stuff last year so I could carry all that firewood so he's got space too.

And Adam, if Cody didn't suck so much, he would be on top of keeping up with the list

Well we will be there Thursday through Sunday. Obviously the most people will be there Sat but come whenever. You can drive trails, ride with someone on trails or just hangout at camp. We'll be there though

 

Don't think I'm roughin it this time. Prolly just gonna head out and get a room like 30 minutes away. I'm prepared to be called a pussy, don't care, gonna be one. If this winter hadn't been so damn cold, it might be different. Sick of the cold, done with it, not sleeping in it even if Kurt has this with all kinds of heat it in it.



- I pee. A lot. Like a pregnant lady. This topic sucked at Harlan, I'll be honest, especially at night.
- I function on 5/6 hours of sleeep, I could/can/will leave after everyone hits the hay and I'd be back before anyone even woke up.
- I'll have to worry about bringing almost nothing other than me, my truck, clothes, recovery gear, tools and food.
- This shit is about having a good time, right? That campin' shit, especially in this weather does not qualify as "good time"...to me. Wheelin...then going to a nice warm room with a shower is my idea of a good time, so thats what I'm gonna do.

Less than 2 weeks. Yay!

Firewood? I'll bring something entertaining to burn. I like to burn things.

What a scamper!! (suburban camper)


The last time I camped (excluding cabins) was in 2002. Hiking alone in the alps for a weekend with just a cheap mummy bag for shelter and a trash bag to seperate it from the wet ground. But, those sunrises over the snowcaps shining on that blue-green water of a glacier fed river are still the best I've ever seen. Even if i did freeze my __ off and get stepped on by a drunk german.

Anyway, I finally got a tent for this trip. 8ftx8ft.
$50 at Bargain Hunt. Was still sealed in the original package.
