That's awesome!!!! I doubt I'll do anything like this with my truck but I think it's awesome. I'm special, my mom reminds me every day, and I kind of enjoy not having a key fob.

Any way that's sweet, especially being able to lower it from the inside while someone can load something in.

He set it to 3 clicks of the unlock button. Normally to unlock the passenger doors, you would press the unlock button 2 times.

Was thinking of doing this, but since I have the power unlocking topper, was thinking of 2x TR-7's (unless one has multiple trigger wires, can't remember right now) - 3 clicks for the rear glass, and a 4th for the tailgate.

    Pretty sweet!

This would be hazardous if you have a rear swing out. lol

Accidently hit the button 3 times and it opens right into the swing out.

going to have to get creative on my rear glass unlocking though. heavier struts/ gas shocks an actuator to open and an actuator to 'push' it open

Apologize for not updating this, didn't really get much interest that's why. I'll get the pics tomorrow and more info up.

I have an Access Cab so I set the PAC TR-7 module for 3 clicks.

You talking about powering the rear privacy glass. There's a mod for that :D

Here's mine. (Sound and image are kinda off from each other, but you get the idea).

Got it directly from P&L for $187.10 pretty steep, but to me it's it's worth it. Shipping is what got it that high.

    Try checking eTrailer.com

Couldn't do this mod without the electric power feature.

Here's some pics of the actuator location, wiring and what not. Got any question(s) just let me know.

    Overview.
    620105BB-F75F-40C9-B2CC-69B3DCEBFD4D_zps_700adae0ee3dfd26447fca70ee7bd610e851d359.jpg

Each actuator kit came with one rod. Used 2 vice-grips to bend the rods. This took sometime cause I had to make sure it had enough clearance to not hit the tailgate cover.
    Passenger side.

    Bends on the rod.

Here's what I was talking about when I combined 4 total wires into 2. GREEN wire is ground, and BLUE wire will tap into the passenger side wire which opens the passenger side door.
    AC6F32F3-B586-4C0F-B1DC-5BC6059881E0_zps_c1c52ea4535f2db9c0570a42abac10b4a21f9e16.jpg
    Solder and shrink tubing.

Grounded the Green wire into the frame.
    E447B31E-A2E3-4222-8631-CFA6C1DFC946_zps_d4fb75e2ab53780f0669e18fc63aa916440909d0.jpg

Then the run the Blue wire on passenger side along the frame, through one of the rubber grommets.

This thing looks like a mess but it's wired up correctly hahaha.

You need a constant 12V for the PAC TR-7 module and the bosh relay. You can use a light tester to see which wire(s) are live even when the truck is off. If you want the wiring diagram for the PAC TR-7 and the relay refer to page 1, I put it up. Wired it up exactly as the diagram. For programming of the module also refer to page 1.

Manage to find a constant 12V wire just under that red wire. Didn't want to use a tap, so just took out the pin and combine the wire with it and installed it back on that pin slot.

That's pretty much it. It's a PITA programming the PAC TR-7 module. So take your time. If you wired up everything correctly then you'll w be rewarded with a successful mod :D

Nice work, adio! I need that power sliding rear window. It's a pain to monkey around in the DC trying to get that thing opened/closed.

I'm not sure how you would modify the existing tailgate handle to work with an actuator to have an auto lock/un-lock feature.

Better price on the 8540 Pop N Lock -
    http://capworld.com/i-16548012-power-tailgate-lock-pl8540-pop-and-lock.html

I'm going to start getting the parts for this , great writeup . I assume since one is using the passenger unlock wires you could also tap for power on that side , just to keep wiring a bit cleaner ? I already have a ton of wiring on the driver's side for the rear view 4 channel camera , reverse lights , ect....
