What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Yeah I feel like I had that problem too with mine. I've just had so many brake gremlins. I'd like to just get disks in the back eventually.

 

Really? I've never had problems with my drumbs or replaced the pads even

serious? i have read that creates a nightmare of problems usually...and their really isn't a big gain in brake performance to make it worth it..

Those have been looking better and better to me.

 

Seems like everybody is going to the Dynapro's lately. All the guys I wheeled with that would only get skinnie BFG's now have tires in the 34x12.50 range haha

 

In the 285/75/16 size they are very price competitive. Those and the Cooper ST's.

 

I had problems before the switch and so we upgraded it. It's improved over what it used to be but I'd still like it to be better.

 

My Dynapros are quiet, rotate well, and grip awesome in mud and snow. The 255/85 KM2s I had made some vibration in the steering wheel when just getting goig from a stop and these don't. Not sure if all KM2s do that. It was like they weren't round just for that first 1mph.

 

Mine don't vibrate so maybe they were just braking in.

 

Yeah, all KM2's do that unless you have low psi. The spacing between the lug pattern causes that vibration that some people have gotten tired of. I never noticed it much until some buddies complained about it on their vehicles... Haha

 

Dynapros are more streetable so I like them.

 

Have any of you had experience with helper springs like these?

My axle wrap is getting bad and wondering if this is a cheap alternative to getting new leafs?

 

Finished painting some stock 15" wheels I found on Craig's List on the cheap.
Very pleased with the results.

Process:
Washed rims with soap, water and soft scrub brush
Sanded down flakes and rough spots
Cleaned with Acetone

3 Coats self etching primer

3 Coats flat black acrylic wheel paint
Lunar Mist (to match) touch up paint for Toy logo in center
3 Coats clear coat to top it off

Cost of whole project, including wheels - $170

Put some snow on the hood, added little icicles to the bumper. Thought I would get into the winter spirit.
