Good grief, the cup holder is $150! I was thinking of making a new panel to fit in that slot. I'd put in one cup holder and the rest would be flat space available for switches. You can't buy just the clips, so I figured I'd look into hacking up a cup holder.

I may need an alternate solution.

Colin, are you going to be able to help with the front diff this weekend?

I am free to help sunday. i know it's a 50% chance of rain, but if we nose in under the car port, i'm good working in the rain.

i'm pretty good with fiberglass. we could cut up the current cup holder and make that space you're talking about without the need for a new one.

Sunday works for me as well. I was thinking an aluminum panel would be nice.

We'll take a look at options on Sunday. For now everything will be electricly switched. The compressor is installed and powered, just need to clean up some wiring. My crappy soldering iron wasn't cutting it last night, so I went out and got one of these. :D

The front diff went in today with Colin's help. It was definitely more of a chore than the rear, but we all know that. This time we only had to make one trip to the hardware store. Neither of our tool collections contained a 12mm hex anything. Fortunately the creepy sears is just down the road.

Everything went along pretty smoothly till we went to pull the diff from the truck. At one point I managed to pin myself between the diff and the crawler I was on. Of course Colin paused for a photo before helping me out from under the diff. :)

Getting the diff back into place wasn't cake either, but we managed. We got everything buttoned up and went out for a quick test drive. We had one small problem though, the 4wd light was flashing at me, and I hadn't even tried to put it into 4wd yet. As it turns out the ADD was DOA. :( After a little quick research online we found that swapping the ADD wasn't as big a task as we thought it was. We removed the three main bolts from the diff and lowered it down. The ADD was able to be unbolted and swapped out. The only downfall was that the new diff fluid we just put in was wasted. Oh well.

Everything's in now and all that's left is to run the air lines.

We also discovered an unintended use for the new scrub bars. They do a fantastic job of holding up the spindle while it's disconnected.

There are several spots that I've had trouble getting through that I'm looking forward to tackling again.

Should be able to handle a few more obstacles without having to rely on the skinny pedal now. :)

I'm still trying to decide where the manual air valves for the ARB's will live. I'm considering mounting them inside the center console. That would mean that I would have to lift the lid of the console to activate them. Does anyone see any issues with that?

any opposition to the way i mentioned i may do mine? toggle on front of the center console, with the valve bodies inside the the compartment? that gives you the space for them, without having to open the lid for activation.

That's definitely an option, but the front of the console isn't a flat surface. I also don't know how thick the material is there. I would hate to drill two 1/2" holes in it, only to find out I didn't have enough thread to mount the valve.

I was actually thinking that if you could mount the valves low enough you could put in a false bottom to cover the valve bodies.

Picked up a 4" hole saw today. We'll see if I have the guts to drill that hole after work on day this week.
