    I only had a couple.

I had one with similar framing, but normal exposure without the ND9, I had a 2nd long exposure that was so close it could have been stacked for HDR if I hadn't been happy with the minor LR manipulation, and I had one more from about waist height with normal exposure.

Normal exposure wasn't good... the clear water just refracted the granite and it was hard to tell that there was a stream there at all. That location needed the 3 second exposure to make the water pop.

This weekend I am upgrading my broken d3000 to an almost new D7000 with 50mm 1.8D lens. I'm stoked.

That is quite a jump in cameras. You're going to love the D7000 once you get used to it. Nice lens to start out with too.

I've been playing with it for a couple of weeks.

Just get in there and start banging the sliders ;)
Figure out what does what and think of how it can be applied to cleanup or special effects.

I used the "healing" tool for the first time last night to remove a person wearing a bright red jacket from the background of the weekly competition shot.

Same here... well... it's on a UPS truck.
$500 rebate on the D7100 with the 18-140 combo... made it hard to pass up for $1300.

I caved and ordered a basic lighting set up tonight. Just a simple stand, mount and umbrella, etc. Grabbed a tiny little soft box and a OCFGear 3' Coil cord for my '100 Somebodies' project. That should be sweet :D

I wanted his OCFGear 16' Straight cord as well but it is out of stock presently. Any recommendations on a good 16-20 ish foot cord that doesn't require weird adapters and whatnot? I think I'll just wait for his cord to be back in stock. When I get back from Spring Break everything should be coming in and then it's off to the adventure of learning Strobist things.

Yeah there are a lot of sites and videos with LR info which is one of the reasons I went with it instead of DxO. Like Rich I have only playing with it for a few weeks but even before I got LR I purchased
    [IMG]
It has been a good investment and not a bad read either. Now if I only had time to read it straight through, but this work thing has been interfering with life way too much lately.

Hey Rich, nice shots. I'd watch the shadows here. Pic one gets hampered by the foreground shadow for me. It seems to overpower the focus which I think is the water. Also they seem a bit tilted, trees are not straight up and down. Cool angle though :) Thought I'd offer up some things I saw, you're giving it a good effort for sure crawling in that creek :D

Nope. LumoPro. Picked it up for a good deal a while back. lp180. It's pretty nice but all manual so I don't have to pay for all that TTL stuff :D

    I would wait.

But have you thought about using Radio Poppers or something similar? That allows you to have someone hold the flash/softbox and you to shoot from farther away. Plus you don't have cords all over the place.
