Truetrac

Hey all, just bought an 07 tacoma to use as a smaller work truck. I got a v6 4x4 with no options but i really want a limited slip. Was just wondering if anyone knows if detroit has a truetrac for us. I dont know much about the trucks drivetrain so i cant make sense of any application guide ive seen.

I have an 07 PreRunner 2.7L, and I wanted a limited slip rearend as well. As soon as I can find someone that I trust in San Antonio to put one in, I am going to get a Detroit TrueTrac. It is a mechanical LSD (not clutch driven like the TRD LSD is), and it gets the best reviews from other people that I have talked to. Most of them say that they never notice the difference until they think they should be stuck and aren't! It also has the best reputation for reliablility. Downside - I have to come up with money, and void the warranty on my rearend... I asked about this in another thread...

Installed one in my 05, last December. Love it so far, all I can say is get it. Detroit Truetrac is the way to go. You can see my coments in 007's link, I conviced him on it.

I have Gleason torsen diffs front and rear. They are amazing. Went with the Yukon version because of availability issues with the truetrac during Covid. Should have done it fifteen years ago. Truck performs so much better on and off road.

 

Ive had one installed on a nissan titan they are great. Best of posi track in slippery conditions and limited slip in corners

 

Anybody happen to know the specs of the 2016+ SR5 4x4 rear end? Which Truetrac will fit
