Wouldn't be a bad idea for the site to install iTrader, makes it easier to figure out if a buyer/seller is safe to deal with. It's a free add-on for vBulletin.

    As needed, and some not.
I recently purchased a Kenwood HU with the reverse camera and dash kit from gtz85350. He was great about sending the stuff, but when I received the package, the camera was broken because he didn’t bother to wrap it up to protect it. The dash kit had tabs broken off and to top it off, the HU had a security code that had to be entered to even use it. The kicker... he didn’t know the code and didn’t mention this at all during the prior discussions. I had to pay an additional $40 to get it unlocked. He said everything was good to go originally - plug and play. Maybe it’s just me, but I think he should reimburse me for that at least. Maybe he should give me some money back for the broken camera too!! Now, he won’t answer my emails or phone calls since I asked him for a refund of the $40 via email. Go figure.

You can never be 100% sure when dealing with people via internet. When i buy something i usually just check out how involved they are in whatever they do, or how active they are on the threads.

However this can method can never be 100% either.ex. I have bad rep so you might not trust me, but ive sold things to people on this websites and never heard of any bad experiences buying off of me :)

If you're worried about it, post up the seller's name and ask if anyone has dealt with them. It's not foolproof, but it's a step in the right direction.

Yeah...There are a few transactions around that haven't gone as clean and smooth as everyone would like...but them seem to get resolved one way or the other and they tend to be few and far between.

I've had great luck buying thru TW...no complaints at all.

Ask visa or my wife. They both constantly remind me how much I've got left to spend.
I'm sorry for the confusion and I didn't mean to mislead you with the sale but I think I explained my position well. I'll take the blame for not know the shipping rates for oversized packages and will do my research more thoroughly next timer before I post anything. I also reimbursed your cash quickly without any hassle and don't want any hard feelings about the deal.

Just a heads up, if you use Paypal you can also open up a claim up to I believe, 30 days. It's not foolproof but I've seen it work for some who had to resort to that to get their money back.

Good idea, I've used this on other sites (Titantalk.com) it works pretty well

But other people, including "Trolls" can put negative remarks and getting some of these removed can be a major PIA. Or misunderstandings and not using the system right can give you a bad rep.

I had a problem once of getting neg rep because I offered too low for an item and the seller didn't like it, instead of just refusing the offer he countered, I countered...the deal went dead, but I got neg rep by him? I was like WTF?

It's all in my head at the moment...
One thing to remember. No matter if a buying experience goes south, best to refrain from slamming the seller/vendor on here in the form of a rant before making sure there was not a misunderstanding, communications mess up or you didn't give the seller/vendor a moment to rectify the situation.

We've seen it happen where someone went out of their tits for a problem that happened on a Friday afternoon at 5pm and he couldn't understand why the vendor wasn't taking care of him at that moment. He put the rant and e-mail here and ended up looking like a douchbag because the vendor had all intentions of fixing the boo boo but the numbnut never gave him the chance.

Remember to Praise in Public and Criticize in Private.
