I have 86,000 miles on my Tacoma.

    -Tow Package

My question is, when i press the accelerator, sometimes i hear a tapping/clicking sound and it's driving me crazy. Sometimes it happens and sometimes it does not. It only happens when i press the accelerator.. and when i'm LIFT OFF the gas, the sound disappears.

Any ideas on where i can start to look? Driveshaft? I asked my mechanic and of course, he can't duplicate the sound but whenever i'm in it, it comes back..

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Grease (or by now, replace and grease) your driveshaft u-joints.

    Oh awesome. Thanks.
I'm assuming this would be a good start to go on from?

Header gasket might be worn causing an exhaust leak which could be the cause of that sound. My FJ is currently doing this. I have after market JBA shorty headers so I ordered the gasket on Wednesday should be here Monday.

Awh it sounds very close to it. Except in the video, the sound seems present throughout the entire START UP to the end of it?

My Tacoma has the sound but it's intermittent and only when i'm pressing on the gas... But this does help because the noise does sound very similar to it.. a tapping/clicking sound...

    You're awesome.. Thanks for contributing!
