I am positive that the antenna is not there but I did question weather it is integrated into the aerial or hidden. My friend has an 09 Tacoma and the antenna is located in the center of the roof right near the 3rd taillight

Wow, this made me curious. Just checked Toyota's web site, it seems there are two "SR5" packages, one (cost more) comes with the antenna and is satellite ready, the other (cheaper) version does not.

Looks like you may have use an aftermarket satellite antenna.

I just took delivery on my 2wd SR5 2.7L access cab and there is no satellite antenna to speak of. Kind of disappointed because I wanted to integrate it with my Sirius radio. However I do have the Blue Logic and am digging live streaming internet radio from my blackberry

I connect my Android phone to the Aux and play my Sirius app to listen to Howard Stern in the morning and music the rest of the day. I pay the $14 bucks a month and I can listen where ever and when ever from my phone. Having the aux in the truck makes things great.

This post is a bit old but figured this would be the appropriate place to post a question regarding the Sirius Shark Fin antenna.

I have a 2012 Access cab with a factory HU and its Sirius enabled. I want to upgrade the HU to a Pioneer AVH-P4400BH which is sat ready. I am still not clear on what parts I would need to use the existing factory installed 'shark fin' sat antenna.

    1. Since my factory HU has Sirius, do I need an SCC1 tuner or is there one already in there which is connected to the factory HU? If not, what adapters do I need for the SCC1 (Lexus GS Shark Fin Antenna Adapter, etc.)?

    2. If not, what adapters and/or components do I need to utilize the existing 'shark fin' antenna (SCC1 tuner, Lexus GS Shark Fin Antenna Adapter, etc.)?

    Thanks

Reviving this thread instead of starting a new one, I just ordered the sir toy and scc1 from Amazon. The scc1 I found in used/like new condition from TSS so both parts together only cost $96. I'm going to order the shark fin adapter from TSS later, but the tuner and connect units should be here this week and I'm hoping to be able to install them next weekend. I'll post some pics when I get it.

I got the scc1 and sirtoy1 and installed them today. I'm not going to get the antenna adapter for another few days so for now I have the magnetic roof antenna hooked up. To add to the OP here are a few more pics.
    1. Used a putty knife with a layer of electrical tape to pop out the climate control panel
    [IMG]

    2. Unbolted the four 10mm bolts holding the radio. You need a long extension for two of them.

    3. I had to pull the glove box out to get enough room to get my hand in there and snake the Sirius cord down from the head unit to the floor. That's the end of the Sirius cord that will get hooked to the tuner.

    4. This is the finished install and also where my antenna is currently routed. Since I'm going to be using the factory antenna soon I didn't spend a ton of time trying to hide the wiring. I don't know how the OP tucked his tuner in without using any fasteners, I used 3 of the included screws to attach it to the carpet.

I know using the Toyota oem tuner may be slightly easier since you don't need to take out the head unit but from what I could see it would be more expensive. This took me maybe 30 minutes total to do, it was really pretty easy. Also I found the vehicle interface on Amazon for 1/2 price as a used/new condition unit. Total cost including the factory antenna adapter cord for me was $174.

Hope this helps anybody thinking about putting in Sirius radio. The only drawback to using my head unit and not the dash mount radio I had before is no memory options and no alerts, but being able to use my steering wheel controls is worth it IMO.

Just to add, I got my adapter cable and hooked up to my roof mount antenna and it all works great. Taking off that kick panel and connecting the adapter cable took maybe 15 minutes, very easy. OP, thanks for the great pics on the first page, definitely helped me find the right area.

Great thread!!! What does the OEM antenna look like? Was it worth it to drill a hole in the roof??

I'm not sure about the 11's, but my 09 already had the factory ant. installed. On mine its a little square blob on the rear center roof, all I had to do was hook up a special Lexus branded antenna cord in the front kick panel. If you don't have the factory ant. it's easy enough to just use the included magnetic antenna and route the wire into the cab.

My Tacoma is sat ready with outside antenna, if I want to use a plug and play Sirius radio, is there a way to the into factory antenna to avoid running the long cord? Thanks.

Yep, you just need one of these adapters
    http://www.amazon.com/Shark-Fin-Antenna-Adapter-SFA12M/dp/B00BU779KQ

It plugs into a port down under the drivers side lower kick panel. Then you can run it under/behind your instrument panel or wherever you're trying to put your plug n' play sirius radio. The other end of the adapter plugs into your sirius radio in the same spot a typical antennae would

Can anyone tell me if this system runs on sirius or XM. I know they merged but you still need to subscribe to one or the other. Sirius doesn't know, (claims they can't open links) and the seller doesn't really know either. I already have a sirius account with a pretty good deal so I don't want to go through the hassle of negotiating with XM.. thanks.

My personal guess would be that its Sirius. Usually any dual branding is Sirius.
