Question is, would it be beneficial to remove the plastic panel that covers the backside of the rear seats?
the panel nearly touches the two metal grills of the subs when the seat is set back which of course it nearly always is.
I haven't had any particular issues with it, yet there can be reverberation heard from the outside of the truck which may/may not be from this setup.
    Any and all input appreciated.

if your outside the truck and hearing vibrations its prolly the back wall i would put some deadener on it and where plastic touches other plaist and so forth

Pulling the black plastic off the seat covers will help with buzzing you may hear at high volumes. But since your plastic is touching the grills, it's probably pushed tight, and the buzzing is negated. As mentioned, any buzzing or noise you hear outside the cabin, you need deadener. Put some on the back wall, and that should help. There's a GB on deadener right now in the GB forum, here's the link.

Mine are removed. I could hear rattling, though I did not put the speaker covers on.
