Get one that fits the tools you want to pack around? I got mine from home depot. The gas lift struts only lasted about two years, but it still gets the job done.

I don't know the exact product number but it is a UWS with the slanted bottom section that I love. It carries enough stuff that nothing goes in the bed to and from college. I am going to look up the number now

FOUND IT!! I have this one and love it. Minus the front tie down spot.

Have a Kobalt low profile box, usually $160 at Lowes. It holds a pretty good amount of stuff, definitely worth the money. I need to paint it though, that chrome lid is blinding on a bright day, they make black ones but they are never in stock.dy2egu9a_04f1fd299f32b7f3af112f22f25e12cec4378fea.jpg

What are the specs on your truck boxes? I am trying to find the correct dimensions for an 08 DCSB but, really, I'm not very smart at this kind of thing. Any ideas?

I like the UWS toolbox I'm just trying to decide between the slim line and a full size box.

My UWS low pro is awesome, and I still have plenty of room in the bed. I do have a long bed though...

I'm a big fan of the UWS-63-A. I think that's the model number - it's 63" wide and angled. I went with the high profile for extra space and I think it has more clearance underneath than the low profile so I can slide more lumber under it. In the rearview mirror it rises almost as high as that little middle seat headrest.

They're cheaper on Amazon but some people complain about the finish getting scratched during shipping. Going site to store from Home Depot cost me a bit more but the box was flawless so they must take better care of it while it's en route. I hear the weatherguard ones are higher quality but I'm happy w/ the UWS one. It's solid enough I could sit on it without worrying about denting something. It opens and closes smoothly, feels like the lid seals well, and its body doesn't flex at all when you're moving it around during install.

My only complaint was the crappy little J hooks that all these boxes seem to come with. I made my own brackets with some unistrut, angle iron, and Grizzly t-slot nuts. It stays in there like it's part of the bed but I can still pull it out and throw it in the garage in less than 5 minutes.

I have this box in the aluminum finish. Are the black ones painted or powdercoated? Is it a high quality finish?

It's painted and I think the quality is pretty good and they put it on pretty heavy. Not as tough as the paint on your truck but it's comparable. It feels like a really smooth glossy enamel.

If you scratch it up somehow, the glossy black Rustoleum automotive touch-up paint is an almost perfect match. I took a drill and grinder all over the place in mine, then just primed and painted the scratches and I think it blended in real well.

20140408_094832.jpgI bought a camlocker deep box in flat black. It holds a lot of stuff and looks nice on the truck IMO. Also has better locks and handles then most of the cheaper boxes.
