OEM 2014 Tacoma Navigation Radio

Or, I have an 2012 that has/had XM radio. Not thinking things through, I bought both the 2014 head unit and XM tuner. I guess I thought the XM tuner would be a direct plug-n-play thing. It's not.

Does anyone know of a way to split the factory antenna so it will work with both the head unit and XM tuner? Is it even possible to do so??

 

Normally, it is the same file update for all the hu's. Gpsunderground.com normally has them all....

Then again, if one person for the update here. They could post the file for all

 

FLTrucks provided the XM Antenna adapter cable, it was about 5" long or so. I added one of these from eBay: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Fakra-B-9001...Connectors&hash=item232f413d63#ht_4310wt_1362

It allows the use of any XM antenna (in my case I used the small magnetic one). I didnt want to cut off the connector on the adapter from FLTrucks to change it to an SMB male connector to allow the XM antenna to plug right on.

 

I too have a 2012 with XM and all the other stuff. Just get yourself the 20/28 pin harness and the antenna adapter, plug everything up and it will work. On mine, all the steering wheel controls work, XM, Nav, Entune apps, Aux.... that all works, the only thing that doesnt is the USB, I am still looking for a fix to that problem, but since I really dont use it that often, Im not in a hurry for it.

As far as splitting antenna...... Plug your existing XM antenna plug into the XM unit you got from FLTrucks and the NAV unit will come with its own antenna. plug it into the back of the new unit and just feed the end of it into the gap over the glove box inside the dash. With your AM/FM antenna adapter, everything will be pretty straight forward and basic.

 

I had to get an XM antenna adapter cable from FLTrucks. It connected the 2012 factory XM antenna to the new XM unit. The USB was a totally different fix.

I replaced the OEM USB port with this (ebay). Fits right in. Top wires were tapped into 12 volt + / - power source. Also purchased this cable (ebay) . It plugged into the back of the head unit.

I was able to fix the USB with a combination of two different adapters. If there is interest, PM me and I will dig up the part numbers.

My xm module came in. I have everything hooked up, except how do I get it to connect to the antenna? I have an 09, so it should be compatible.

I emailed him on April 20th about a radio and got an email back on April 24th but nothing after that. Still waiting to hear back from him with a status on the radio.

 

MudFlap you have a 2012 and said everything works. Does your bluetooth on the steering wheel work? If so how did you get it to work. I have everything else except bluetooth and usb

Yeah it looks like everyone that has received one from him has nothing but really good things to say which is why I am still waiting for him to send me the payment request through PayPal so I can buy from him. Not sure what the holdup is but I waiting patiently to buy one of these off of him.
