Looks like LED lights for blinker/taillights. Will that pass inspection if there's no visible red with the lights off? I thought completely clear tail lights was a big no-no.

It might be different in Cali (because, well, everything is different is Cali), but as long as there is a red reflector on the back / side of the vehicle and the light is red when illuminated the light housing can be clear.

    Kinda like this:
    IMG_0876_7dd2c4636fb2cd4c18ae16b3ce4a17205ef0fd8f.jpg

That being said, I don't see any red reflectors. That is easily remedied with some reflector tape though...

i was thinking this lots of cars have clear housings now. but also trailer laws can be different from cars/trucks.

Hope its ok. I like the look, I'd just hate you to have to go through CA DMV more than once. Clear housing is one thing. But clear housing with no visible color is another.
I had to have visible red on the rear of the trailer and visible orange sidemarkers (towards the front) and red sidemarkers (towards the rear) on the sides.

Ill stick on some red reflectors just in case. I was looking at the codes and it states ren or amber lights on the front and muct have tail and brake lights if over 80" wide.

They are not really sliders just extensions of the fenders and the fenders are plate steel. Only 1/8th" plate but they are still plate.

This is coming together really nicely. What is the hitch type? Looks like a pin on the tongue of the trailer, but it isn't something I am familiar with. Also, will you be installing some sort of mudflap? It may not be required, but would certainly be a courtesy to anybody behind you on the road.

    Sorry man:

    EDIT:
One more. Apparently it's a federal law, not state. You need red lights/reflectors on the sides of the trailer behind the axles, and amber lights/reflectors on the side of the trailer in front of the axles.

None of that states it needs to be red when the light are off:confused: I have amber lights and red tail lights. I do need reflectors but it doesnt say anything about they lights have to be red/amber wile off. Also it states 80" wide and above im at 78.5 to the outside edge of the tires.

Reflectors mean it must reflect that color without lighting. You can combine them with the lights or have them separate.
The over 80" just means u need a center rear light. You are not so the top section is what u need to look at.

Saw Jerry's trailor in person this week. That thing is pretty badass! Haven't seen Jason's trailer in person yet, but I'm assuming its equally BA :D

I liked the lock and roll more then the max coupler. The ease of hookup was one of them.
