I have a 01 Tacoma with 2.7 engine. There are two idler pulleys with tension adjustments (although it looks like you can unbolt the pulley and replace it without replacing the tension adjustment bracket. I replaced the belts but still have a lot of noise coming from at least one of the idler pulleys. In searching for parts I cannot determine if both pulleys are the same. They look similar but not exact (its possible one was replaced prior to me owning the truck. I plan on just replacing both since its not a big job but would like to know if anyone knows if they are both the same part and inter-changeable? One is on the power steering pump belt while the other is on the AC belt.

Searching online I really just see ones listed for the AC. I can wait and check with the dealer but was going to order online if I can find out sooner. Just don't want to end up with only one that fits. Thanks in advance.

Nope, I did it on the sidewalk of our dorm buildings with a hammer and a screwdriver.

Tap around it so bearing goes in evenly. VERY easy to do....

Ordered one from Amazon for $8 so won't have drive out to look for one. Will do one of the pulleys and see if that clears up the noise. Then the other if needed. It does have some play in the bearing right now. You saved me some money. Thanks a bunch!

I've been getting some belt noise off and on. I pulled the Psteering tension pulley and it seems loose - slightly wobbles side to side.

Is this a fair test to do (besides the bearing being seized), to the AC pulley as well? I'm wondering if mine might be compromised as well.
