As per the title the air-conditioning fan is not working but only in the first 3 speeds. On high it works just fine.

I change the settings on the far right switch to defrost, feet, front-on and no difference. I engage the re-circ and no change.

It does blow cold air so that is better than nothing.

    any ideas

My 2005 did this intermittently for the last year, would just start working again on the lower speed settings. It was 'working' when I traded it in.

Thinking about putting a tranny gcooler
it was the resistor on my 89 , only the high worked, it's for the heater also, its located on the passenger side behind the glove box. It's about $80 for a non-denso part,

^Maybe that expensive for the '89. For '05-current it's only $26, Denso and aftermarket about the same price.

Are these both from 2nd Gen? What year?
So far, my '08 is fine, and I have the fan running on the 1st or 2nd setting 24/7. Every now and then I'll kick it up to high when the cab is blazing, but in the RC, I'll have icicles hanging from my nose if I don't turn it down after a few miles.

Mine has done this a couple of different times. I moved the wires around a bit behind the glovebox and all levels came back.

Little more info from the thread....

The part number on the left is the GM part number for the harness if ours is burned.

That indicates that your harness is getting burned.
The intermittent contact will only generate more heat and cause more damage.
    You need both parts.

The old-style with the green putty is used from 2005 to some time in 2011 I think.

Toyota's 50/50 venture at NUMMI probably compelled it to adopt some GM parts.

Thanks for the heads up. I know what I'll be doing soon.

I have a 2012 Prerunner which the blower motor suddenly stopped running on the 3 lower speeds. I was surprised to see the problem so soon. although, I have 80,000 miles on my truck..

I went ahead and ordered the resister and discovered that my resister pack was not failed. Now I have two resister packs. I have the newest resister too. I looked at the connector and it looks fine. No burns or discoloration. The connectors look in tact. I am mystified about this.

I'm thinking about pulling the fan motor and inspecting it. What do you all think? This seems strange that a 2012 is having this problem after only 30 months of service (although lots of miles).
