shifter knob?

    Hi, I just recently bought my '07 double cab 4x4 tacoma that is automatic, and i was wanting to change the shifter knob to an aftermarket one, so before i order a new one can anyone tell me if the threading for the shifter knob is the same on the automatic truck vs. manual truck? and does anyone know the thread specs?

    If I remember the auto and manual are different sizes.
    I know the auto knob is 8 x 1.25mm and I have read here that the manual is 12x1.25mm

    I can order a Hurst T Shifter Knob for my manual and it will also help against thief of my truck, nobody will steal my truck if they don't know the shift pattern, they can't drive it without knowing the shift pattern ,, right?

    If the thief knows how to drive a manual, the shifter will not make a difference. They just need to get it in a forward gear.

    The 6 speed manual on my Tacoma to me its strange to see reverse to the left and forward, with my past experiences with manuals reverse was always to the the right and back.
    But when I tell other people that they say i'm crazy, they say all manuals have reverse to the left and up.
    My past manuals was a Ford Tempo and 2 Honda Civics and a 03 F150 and I can always remember they had reverse back on the shifter.
