I have a garage full of Chemical Guys stuff and couldn't be happier with their products. I have a few of their quick detailers on hand and use a QD after every wash. I only buy the gallon sizes now.

My favorite QD's of the bunch are:

Chemical Guys P40 Detailer Spray with Carnuba
Chemical Guys Extreme Slick Synthetic Detailer

I bet that stuff is on sale too. I wonder why they have different lines... Anyway, does your truck HAVE to be waxed to use quick detailer? Or does that just prolong the wax?

Also, dif between quick detailer and synthetic?

I use the v7 as well as the speed wipe. The stuff is awesome, but if you are spraying down your car everyday, it's a little overkill since it's a spray sealant. I use it after I wash my truck, but then during the week I use speed wipe to knock down the dust.

What is speed wipe?? And how is it different than a quick detailer?

I also recommend getting a gallon of Bare Bones. It makes the under carriage and wheel wells look like they were brand new again.

I am spending a LOT if I get 3 gallons of this stuff... What exactly do you do to the undercarriage? And soap and water won't do just fine with that? I have considered painting the wheel wells grey or black so they don't stand out too much, but that is just an idea, I would have to research how it would look first

Bare Bones returns all the black metal and plastic pieces to a dark black, just like the day the truck was driven off the factory floor. You could wash all of that stuff by hand. But with Bare Bones, all you need to do is spray it on and and you are good to go.

I painted my wheel wells black, but the black paint looked dirty after a few weeks. Bare Bones returns it to dark black. Try buying a 16 oz size if you are not sure that you really want it.

I wonder if I bought gallons AND empty spray bottles (they sell their spray bottles too) if I could sell them on TW to recoup some cost? :notsure: for cheaper than the site of course

Thank you!! I will probably buy this. I hope the headlight stuff actually works. Also, can anyone chime in: Does a clay bar remove LIME from working in a chemical plant?

    For the experts...

I just bought a new 2014 DCSB TRD Sport in Blue Ribbon Metallic and will be needing to clean/protect her soon. Being somewhat low in budget and even lower in time, what would you recommend for cleaning/protecting the exterior? That Meguiar's kit from Amazon looks interesting.

Also, I've never really protected the interior of any of my vehicles because I don't want the smell that comes with those types products. This is mainly due to the fact that I'm a hunter and for me, odors are the enemy IMO. Because of this, I typically with just wipe down the dash and such with a damp paper towel and call it good. I will clean the windows with glass cleaner on occassion though. Is there any products that you could recommend that would protect with little to no odors?

    Thanks all!
    David

I like to use Griots Garage interior cleaner and it has no odors. Does a great job cleaning the surfaces and reducing dust.

I have recently had to stop using Armor All because I heard that it cracked the vinyl interior. Can someone confirm this? And what else would you recommend? I have heard Griots a lot but the popular choice around here (Walmart) is Meguairs.

yes, don't use armor-all, the vinyl/leather/pleather becomes addicted to it and if not used constantly it will dry out faster.

    use 303 protectant

Yup 303 is what I use too. If you can't find it, megs quick interior detailer works good too. You can find it at walmart, target etc.

    David:
I agree with others on the using of 303. Very low odor and get the job done on a lot of different surfaces of your vehicle. I clean my Access LE cover, rubber door seals, and rubber parts under the hood with 303. 303 also has excellent reviews for use as a dash cleaner, plastic trim cleaner, and tire shine product. The odors for most cleaning products are introduced into the product for the smell. The smell additive is also introduced into almost all wax products as well.

For the exterior on a budget I would recommend Mothers 3 step system with the carnauba paste wax. I used the system for over 10 years with great results. It is a lot of work but the results are amazing. For an over the counter product it is hard to beat the mothers system. Just be sure to do a second coat of wax a day after the first coat for best results. With towels and applicators the cost should be around $75.

    AG search results, .

You should be able to find the Mothers products at your favorite auto parts store. Do not skimp on the microfiber towel for polishing and get the Megs towels. http://www.amazon.com/Meguiars-X2020-Supreme-Microfiber-Towels/dp/B0009IQZH0

Best of luck and post up some pics on the results.
