Pissed off. I had a box of pistol grip clamps sitting on my front seat. Somehow someway one of the long ones was digging into the front of my passenger side dash. I had some boards running through the rear slider resting on the dash and did not notice. It put a gouge into the airbag cover. Question to you smart guys is... is this a replaceable part or is it necessary to buy an entire airbag assembly.

    Thanks

I would think you could probably get the dash piece separate. It shouldn't be part of the airbag.

Hope you get it worked out. That would make me sick.

Thanks... it's all I could concentrate on while driving today. Plan on a trip to dealer then a call to the salvage yard tomorrow. Just stewing about it and was hoping to get the answer you gave me.
    Thanks

That sucks dude. Remember to not let anything get near the dashes of these trucks. They are painted and the paint comes off pretty easy from seeing threads on here over the years.

I see a lot of used stuff for Tacomas on Ebay. I think some are from salvage yards...

I Had a Tom Tom suction cupped onto my windshield, not even 1/2" from the dash. Well hit a bump in road which caused the GPS to fall on to the dash, and even that left a mark that drives me crazy. I wish Toyota would give us the same dash quality/ material they put in the rest of the lineup. I mean for $30k we shouldn't get dash quality from vehicles that cost $15K.

Even the new Corrola, which cost like $18K has a high quality/ grade dash.

When mine was new, there was a bubble on the passenger air bag cover and it was replaced under warranty. Yeah it's part of the dash pad and they took apart everything like the steering wheel, radio, gauges, all sorts of covers, etc....to remove the dash pad. It seemed like a lot of work.

You should probably just ignore it.

I've heard Napa has a dash paint for our trucks.

It is a disaster. It is the entire dash. And like said above everything comes out! And I mean everything! Not to mention its almost a $1000 part

Roof rack would not have helped. I had 14' exterior PVC trim that is very flexible. Would have screwed my hood up. Maybe just putting the box in the bed would have been a good idea.

Dash mats do not cover the area that is damaged

Going to give the salvage yard angle a shot. I can take things apart and get them back together so not intimidated... I guess the whole dash has to be replaced when the pass side airbag deploys??? If so a body shop should be able to help.

The family pop up got away from me a little and scratched the fuck out of my tailgate. Hit it with some touch up paint and put a black vinyl band-aid over it. I've had a couple girls comment on it. :D
