    Those guys are great!

Emmure has always been one of those bands i can get into, I've listened to them basically since i started listening to metal. The opening track makes you want to punch puppies so i knew it would be a decent album. Their last album didn't do much for me but this one seems pretty good so far. Crazy to see their progression from "The Complete Guide to Needlework" to this new album.

lots of good taste of metal up in here.... is it just me or does the genre as a whole seem to have gone down hill the last couple of years? the strongest/best year IMO was probably 2006 where everything was super catchy and melodic... new bands that have been emerging lately are just doing weird shit and the sound is terrible. no 'soul' in the music anymore...

anyway, that being said. my favs:

August Burns Red - loved them since Thrill Seeker, excited for their new album come June. Saw them live a couple months ago in Feb and it was probably the best performance i have seen from a metal band. amazing energy. (biased because they are probably my all time fav band haha)
As I Lay Dying - Lambesis is an idiot, sucks we will get no more from them.
Parkway Drive - also loved since back in the day, excited for this new album
I Killed the Prom Queen - super stoked to see these guys back, new album is awesome. still rock out to the old shit.
Mors Principium Est (more melodeath) - their new album has so much SOUL. the lead guitarist Andy Gillion is a genius. i shoot the shit with him every once and awhile, if you are into any of the bands i mentioned, i recommend you take a look at their newest album. the guitar solos this guy creates are effing beautiful.

    Ain't really into metalcore, but
The Black Dahlia Murder is my favorite band so stoked for their new album to drop.

    I have recently gotten into:
Angelmaker and Shokran some awesome bands! :headbang:
