I couldn't seem to find any threads on this so I thought I'd ask. I'm thinking about swapping out the fluid in my manual transmission. It's the V6 4.0. I've never attempted this. how hard is it to do? Is it like the autos where you can only drain about 3qts at a time? What's the best trans fluid? Any info would be very helpful. Thanks guys!

I went Redline MT-90 in both the tranny and the transfer case with no issues. The one concern is to stick with a GL4 type fluid in the transmission, there are other brands that will work if you can't get Redline local or are not interested in mail order.

I got it all changed out this weekend. Very easy! The hardest part was getting the hose of my pump to fit in the fill hole. Used Valvoline maxlife limited slip gear oil. I can already feel a difference. Much smoother shifting. Thanks for the help guys!

Here's what I did after the cheap fluid pump broke. I had a piece of tubing that fit snug in the fill hole and used a funnel from the top.
    Worked great.
