From what I've read the cheapest way is to join the military. The second cheapest is to get a fixed wing license and then work on the helo license. I've also read that the military folks tend to get preference when it comes to professional jobs. Unfortunately it also seems that there are more pilots than there are jobs in the private sector. All the research I've done seemed to turn up that it isn't a viable career option. YMMV

I've actually found what I want to do. I'm going to be joining the police force. Training and getting more fit right now so that I'll be ready when they start taking apps in January.

Thats exactly why I switched from being a professional pilot (last stage of instrument training) and went into aviation management. Of course it still isn't very easy to get into, but I've got a job I really enjoy and I am not in near as much debt.

Solid choice man. Keep up the pt and make sure you eat enough so you build muscle.

PT won't be a problem. The eating might be, though. I'm not capable of eating much. Hence why I still haven't hit 100 pounds, though that's also genetics.

Lol why not? I eat lots of peanut butter. A tablespoon is like twenty grams of fat. I've been trying to hit 100 for three years now, and for a while I was 96 pounds, but now for some reason I'm 93.2 pounds now.

    1. college (great to have a degree to fall back on if the pilot thing doesn't work out
    2. After college, officer candidate school (OCS)
    3. Become military pilot
    4. Do your time then get out and fly private the rest of your life
