i started having some trouble with my driverside power window a few days ago. i thought the motor was going out, but the mechanic said i have a torn glass run. he also quoted me 300+ dollars to replace it ($122 for the part)

i'm considering putting the part in myself to save some mulah... problem is, i don't know where i'd find a new one. local junk yards don't have anything above an 87 pickup.

anyone know where i can buy a new one?

This is gonna sound stupid, but mine was also very loose 5 years ago when I bought the truck... the glass would frequently fall out of the run because the motor just pulled them a apart. From what I remember I just used a couple strips of duct tape at the bottom of the window to make it fit more tightly.... it has worked for 5 years?!o_O:thumbsup:

but if you’re replacing the run all together I’d imagine the hardest part is finagling it into place once the door panel is off, everything else should bolt right up.

Swing by your local Safelite or glass shop. Tell them what you’re trying to do. Even if they dont have the glass in stock (they wont) they’ll know exactly where to look and can tell you what other vehicles have that glass. If you’re nice.
