    Supercharger rebuild

Back in July (2016) I finally got to fully rebuilding the supercharger myself, after many trials and errors I got it done and had the satisfaction of completion.

Here I opened up the nose cone to the smell of rotten bananas and gym sweat

My first manner of fucking up was exploding a bearing. I forgot to keep the spring under the bearing when pressing it out which left the inner bore attached to the nose shaft.

Here I get the intake piece off and you can see the state in which the needle bearings are in. A 10mm wrench needs to be grinded and modified in order to reach a nut in the back of the s/c. This is the only way to detach the housing and access the needle bearings.

Pressing the needle bearings in and out was a breeze thankfully, not much to it.

I made sure every inch of surface for new gasket was scraped clean and was very careful in keeping the rotors pristine.

Working on the nose cone became a different story; you must keep a socket on each end of the shaft when swapping in the new bearings. The bearing that goes in the front of the nose cone, where the pulley is installed, must be kept pushed in as you are pressing from the back so that it does not fall back out as you push the shaft with the new rear bearing in.

Here comes fuck up #2 as I didn't take note of how deep the socket was in order to clear the cone shaft as it was being pushed in (giggity)

Therefore surgery must be done to carefully remove the stuck socket trying not to fuck with the splines on the shaft.

After all bearings and new nose seal installed it was all downhill from here. I promise the surface never looked so clean since it was new.

    And done!

I'm liking the leather, did the kit come with the door panels or did you do that yourself?
