Looking to replace my rugged fails on my 2013 DCSB 4x4 before next winter... Rugged fail is exactly what they are on ice / snowy roads.

I have always been partial to Michelin MS/2's as they have done phenomenal in the relative small amount of snow / ice driving (i live in so cal, so its limited to multiple trips a year to the snow to ski)

But i want something a little more aggressive for more off road adventures.... i know what your going to say... Duratrac's ... both of my buddies have em, they are nice, but i dont off road a whole lot and they are a lil noisy for my tastes.

Thats where the Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure comes into play... looks like a good balance between the MS/2 and the Duratrac. Just wondering if anyone is running the GW AT adventure and how you like them.?

To my knowledge these tires are pretty much brand new as they replaced GoodYear's Silent Armor A/T. Its gonna be hard finding anyone with lots of miles and experience on them just yet. But they look very similar to the silent armor so I'd imagine they'll behave kinda the same.

Tire Rack posts survey results on a variety of tires- go to http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/surveydisplay.jsp?type=ORAT

These tires come in P rated and LT rated- I went with LT245/75R16. After rebate cost is $198 per tire. Only have a few miles on them so too soon to assess. I travel on gravel roads and trails that have snow mobile track studs, so I need a tire with better puncture resistance than the P rated Dunlops that came with my 2013 Double Cab TRD Sport.

Guys The BFG All Terrain T/A KO's are the best thing going in ALL conditions. New model just introduced the KO2 and it is even BETTER. Only problem is it is not available in all sizes yet. I got 65K miles on my last set and have never gotten stuck, just plowed out of 2' plus feet of snow! Can't wait for my size to come out in the KO2's 265/70 17's.

Buddy of mine had the BFG K0's on his 1st gen and that truck was super scary to drive in anything but dry weather. They were terrible in the rain and even worse in snow. We played with tire pressure trying to get better traction but had no luck. He quickly sold them and went with the new Destination AT which he likes.

Speaking of the Destination AT's, I had a set on my truck for almost 60K without any complaints before going to the Duratracs. BTW. I love the Duratracs so far. No complaints on any of the conditions Ive run into which included the 20+ ft of snow that got dumped on us last yr.

Re: my transition from OE Dunlops (P Rated) to Goodyear Adventures (LT Pro Rated). Noticed that LT tires were inflated by Sears technician to 29 psi (similar to recommended PSI on the door panel for the P rated tires). Today, after doing quite a bit of internet research, I increased pressure of the LTs to 45 PSI. I do not plan on carrying heavy loads in the Tacoma- I got the LTs due to travel on gravel roads and logging trails that are occasionally littered with studs from snowmobile treads, as well as their performance in snow. (I have had flats from both snowmobile studs and sharp gravel on both my 4Runner and Tacoma - primarily due to the less protection their OE P rated tires offered.) Anyway, LT tires , due to their heavier weight and construction, REQUIRE a higher PSI than P rated tires. However raising the LT pressure to 45 PSI has caused my TPMS light to go on so it appears I'll have to have the car computer modified again to see if it will recognize this higher pressure as "normal". If any of you have different recommendation for LT tire pressure I'd appreciate your insight.

Also, several of the sites I visited mentioned importance of proper "break in" for new tires - (500 miles of moderate acceleration/breaking/ and cornering.)
