my clutch is starting to let me know that it wants to retire. it is the stock clutch with about 125K on it. its starting to shudder a bit, pedal is starting to feel real spongy and the engage point seems like it is starting to vary a bit. no slips yet....

but i;d like to prepare myself before it gets to that point. i think i'm going to take a portion of my xmas bonus and buy the parts to replace the clutch. truck is a base 2005 2.7 4x4, it is basically a daily driver. the most off roading it sees now is the occasional gas well access road. i've had great luck with exedy clutches in my integra. anyone have any experience with exedy in these trucks?

i'm not sure if i should worry about getting a new flywheel, or wait and see if the one i have can be resurfaced.

when i get the new clutch, i'll replace the TOB, and slave cylinder too. anything else i should look at replacing while i have the transmission off?

i do remember reading that thread. i was just hoping not to spend quite that much on a clutch that i would probably not use to it's full capabilities. thats a lot of clutch for a daily driver that doesnt do offroad i think.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Just replace it with the stock aisin clutch then if you don't plan on using it for heavy work.
