Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
I'm 6 feet tall, even in a 2nd gen double cab the driver seat would be back as far as it could go. People don't like sitting behind me needless to say, I wont adjust my seat either, I am the driver, my comfort is more important for the safety of the drive. Usually, most I have in the truck at the time is 3 people including myself so the 3rd person can sit behind the passenger which is usually my wife and she is small (5'2") so doesn't mind moving the seat forward for the person in back.

Despite my height, I am still very comfortable in the first gen on long drives, both gen trucks have a surprising amount of legroom. I came from a 2011 access cab.

the 1st gen is nice, but more room and creature comforts for me in the second gen. However, if the hilux comes back on the global plat form, I expect it to be about the same as the 2nd gen. its a good balance of size for euro streets and passenger room.

Either or, first or second gen double cab, has to be better than sitting in the back of an xtra/access cab right? I got that treat one time in my 2011, man that was miserable. I don't even know why they bother putting seats back there, anyone older than an 8 year old will be cramped up. I mainly got my double cab for my dogs, I got 400lbs of em to haul around. They are much happier with the double cab than the access cab, before I had to put 2 in the front seat and 2 in the back, now all 4 can ride in the backseat.

I considered a 4Runner, but I am a pickup guy, my wife has a nice Ford Explorer anyway.

I'm completely content with it. I always felt something was missing with my 2011, but when I got into the 04 I had everything I wanted and more. Sure I sacrificed a lot with the short bed, but I also have a big 1997 Powerstroke with a 8ft bed for when I need to haul something large or tow heavy. Love both my pickups, they will be with me for a long long time.

2nd gens are great trucks, just not my type is all.
