Hello my fellow Tacomaworld members, I wanted to start this thread for anyone out there who rides and engages in Track Days events. Please post up any question, comments, current or future events regarding Track Days including locations of tracks you've been or is going too. It would be nice to know if any of you are also involved as it can lead to track/truck meet ups. For the out of California guys/gals don't be shy to put up any info about the tracks/events in your states. Thanks everyone.

Some of the tracks in California:

    • Buttonwillow Raceway
    • Streets of Willow
    • Willow Springs
    • Thunderhill Raceway
    • Chuckwalla
    • Sonoma Raceway
    • Laguna Seca Raceway
Some of the Host who host the track days events:

Here are some photos of me at Buttonwillow raceway, at my 1st trackday event with Lets ride. Photos courtesy of Caliphotography. Still new to riding so you wont be seeing me drag knee anytime soon. This was definitely a great riding experience and will be doing more trackdays. Hope to see/meet some of you guys out there. The good thing is they have different rider classifications A=expert B=intermediate C=beginner. You can probably guess which classification I chose.

Lolz. All good. There might be some TW members who race track with their cars.

Nice bike! I ride but not on any tracks... I have an '87 Honda Super Magna, hence my screen name. Like to ride the roads but not big on the racing mindset. Would be open to group rides.

Thanks supermagna. Thats a pretty cool looking bike you have there yourself, i had to google it up though lolz. I never thought i would do track myself, until my buddy infuenced me. To me it actually wasnt for racing it was more for improving my skills in a controlled environment vs. canyon carving. But definitely if my group of friends ever head out that way ill pm you.

That makes sense learning in a controlled environment helps a lot. I grew up ridding in the hills of Sonoma County and those skills have helped a lot on the roads over the years. BTW I see you are also in the Fresno area... I was stationed at NAS Lemoore from 1987-1989. I really like the San Joaquin Valley! Please do keep me in mind if you make it this way.

I hear you, i dont even feel safe anymore canyon carving. You can definitely push it more out on the track.

Will do I will definitely keep you posted. As for the SJV, its nice im still getting used to it lolz. only been out here for 2 yrs i miss the coast. Ridings fun though, a lot of canyons out here.

Did a trackday last year for the first time at heartland park here in ks. They have schedules posted on their site for bike days which are saturday/sunday once a month in summer/fall.

Its a blast! Would have llve to been out there this last year but i had a broken hand. i still need to get me leathers though which a good suit is expensive. But its a lot more fun to push my limits there instead of the street.

Yeah Hector's an awesome guy and great rider, he and all the control riders out there are a great bunch. Look up Daryl's photos, Daryl is out there most track days. There's a few others but I'd check there first.

Nice looking truck, I think I've seen you around Overland Park before.

    Search for one here: http://www.crashedtoys.com/us/searc...=99999&searchTitle=2006-2015,,&cn=2006-2015,,

Personally, I'd steer clear of the CBR's due to on-track parts availability and some handling quirks that are difficult to tune out of the chassis. GSXR's and R6's are what I would stick with. Out of the box, R6's are quick (go with '08+ due to getting the variable stacks and some semblance of midrange, the '06&'07 were difficult to keep "on the pipe" with tempermental powerbands), Gixxer's need fork springs, high ride height and a 6mm shim on top of the shock for best handling.

I used to attend quite a few trackdays, California Superbike School (good instruction) and traveled around quite a bit...Autobahn (when NESBA would run there), Blackhawk Farms, Road America and Barber Motorsports Park but tire costs, escalating TD fees and expense overall put me off them for a while... Last attended track day was in '11 and honestly, after riding on the track I lost all motivation to street ride. Been contemplating getting a super-moto that I can TD (slowly), ice-race and convert back to dirt and pull more riding time with.
