It is confirmed that holding down the hands free activates Siri in car play mode.

    Some tips:

Don't forget to wire up the speed pulse cable. It is behind the glove box, there is a good thread on its location.

Don't forget to update the firmware on the Axxess SWC before installing.

Wire up and tape your connections behind the unit as neatly and efficiently as possible, there is a lot of space in the dash but a its gets filled up quick with all the cables.

Did you purchase the AX-OTG1AN cable to upgrade the Steering Wheel controller?

I have not updated my SWC-1 Firmware at all. My unit does does not have a mini hdmi port like the new ones do, it requires a usb to cab cable. I was planning to update the firmware but when I tested it all of the functions work fine. I might get around to it someday.

    I will be installing the Pioneer AVH-4000 NEX soon. I am removing a head unit, non-JBL w/o nav in a 2014 taco. I have the Pioneer head unit and most of the connectors;
    Axxess ASWC-1,
    Metra 40-LX11,
    Metra 70-1761
and parking brake bypass interface purchased on Ebay.
I am waiting for one last connector/interface to retain factor backup camera. I do not plan on cutting any wires and want to retain all existing TACO features except the XM radio since I would have to buy another XM unit and use another antenna. I prefer not have an antenna somewhere in the cab area so XM goes unless I can figure out a connector to get the existing XM antenna connector to work on the Pioneer??

I was not able to connect the stock radio antenna to the pioneer. My tech told me it was impossible. Meh

My AVIC D-1 (really old) that has been in 3 different trucks now is dying. Nav no longer accurate, touchscreen getting dead spots etc.

Have pretty much decided on replacing it with an 8000-NEX. Does anybody know if I will need a new XM tuner or will the one I am using with the older AVIC unit work?

Yep, wasn't worth the money or trouble. Install was a massive pain in the ass. Wound up taking it to a professional to get the camera working. Turns out you need a 12v to 5v step down converter. Interface isn't as nice as I expected either.

Wouldn't the 4000NEX be better being as though it has a detachable face to prevent being stolen?

Does the factory antenna from the Shark Fin for the Sirius radio plug right into the back of head unit? I know I need a new Sirius Tuner to add on but do I need the little antenna that comes with the new Sirius tuner?

Getting the 7100 NEX next week. Anyone try these new ones out. How will it work in my 2011?

Works pretty good. Also, for A
Anyone who buys one you do not need a bypass cable, nor do you need to ground the park brake wire. There's a new, easier method where u just hold down in the corner for 10-15 second after going to AV - off. I'll post a how to soon.

Getting a 4100NEX next week. Hopefully the android auto works well so I can use google maps from my phone since the 4100NEX does not include nav. Schoshe seems to be the way to go for the dash kit. Metra does not seem to fit that well. Some 7" HU's I've seen installed look like they stick out of the dash at the top. Hopefully this one can be installed recessed a little. Doesn't look right when it's not recessed.

Google Maps on Android Auto works pretty damn good.. and yea, I'd go with the Schoshe. It looks much closer to stock, and doesn't feel as cheap.

Hint, don't forget to download the Android Auto app, or Android Auto wont work.... I've been hearing a lot of people mention that on another forum and I just laugh.

Oh, and here's how to disable video restrictions using the bypass tricks. No wire grounding required

That video bypass trick is awesome. Definately going to try that mostly because I noticed that the keypad for phone calls is also greyed out unless the parking brake is on. I can scroll through the phone book but not punch in numbers to dial something not in my phone book unless parked. Hopefully this bypass works for the phone also.

I ordered the scoshe because my installer could only order metra. So the I tried both and the scosche definately fits better on the top. The metra did not curve back into the dash on top enough to fit the lines of the vents on either side. Got everything working but could not get android auto to work at all. Running 5.0 lollipop on my Galaxy S6, android auto app installed, settings on the head unit correct (I followed the instructions), google play services update to 7.5 and firmware update on HU to 1.03. Still nothing happening except phone was charging. Spent hrs researching last night. Today I was looking through the big box of my old components and the empty boxes from the new components and noticed a box for CD-AH200 cable. Went on the pioneer website and see that the AH200 is for app radio. I'm supposed to have the CD-MU200 cable for android auto to work. Called my installer and he's ordering the MU200. Keeping my fingers crossed that that is all it is.

Yes the bypass works for the dialer too. Basically allows all functions to work, even while moving. Bypassing all "motion restrictions" on the head unit.
