So where it says Deep Cycle type in the specs , doesn't mean it's a deep cycle type battery ?

    http://m.sears.com/diehard-platinum-marine-battery-group-size-31m-price/p-02850131000P

and it is a marine battery

I'm not sure. I don't know what others are saying and frankly I don't care. I do know batteries though. I would not recommend a marine deep cycle or a marine hybrid battery for an auto starting application, for reasons already stated (internal construction of lead plates is materially different).

If it was my coin, I would go with a $100 Everstart MAXX auto battery from Walmart. Their built by Johnson Controls, Inc. Get the most CCA you can fit, and of course the freshest battery you can find.

The Ultra XD you were looking at is the same one in my truck. It's actually a re-branded Northstar battery. I shopped around, did my research and came up with this battery as the best for my uses. It's designed to run trolling motors on fishing boats, but still has plenty of CCA to start my Taco at -40C. It's heavy, it's expensive but IMO, worth every penny.

The model I got was the Model #:34R-PC1500T

It was expensive but all the specs were great along with great reviews.
    It's been great so far.

You do have to get the little tray for it to raise it up and might have to extend the connections to the battery a little but mine was just fine.

Yes that one. And it was the height that didn't fit because it wasn't as tall as the stock battery. It needed the extra height to be able to be clamped down by the stock battery holder.
