    Ok, forget I asked. I found several write ups on the subject. Although one of the write ups I found said to install the bolt from the back, this one. So cutting the bolt was unnecessary, but I feel I installed the new ones the best way I could have. Thanks for the patients folks.

    I don't know how many of you guys do your own front shock/strut replacement but watch this video and it's the easiest way to compress/uncompress your springs. It's so easy a caveman can do it........me!
